Title: Bow Truck Mounts
Post by: Bowhunter32 on April 24, 2016, 08:44:25 PM
I have been searching and searching for a more convenient way to hold my bow in my truck.  I thought about a rear window mount, or even a possible roof mount.   But I think I found a pretty decent set up in the meantime!  Went to cabelas and saw their "tackleback", and thought I'd give it a try.  It perfectly holds my bow right behind my drivers seat and even in the regular cab its pretty easy to get it out of the truck.  I was just wondering what other ways people have found to transport their bows inside their rig and how they are working out?  I'm always lookin for new ideas to make archery/hunting a little bit more user friendly.

Mine stays in my soft case somewhere piled in with the rest of my gear till I get where I'm gonna camp or hunt.  Not sure what your asking.  Are you looking for something that makes your bow easier to access if you see something crossing on the road?

When im traveling through areas where i might get a shot at something i just throw my bow with a soft case unzipped in the back so i just have to reach over the side and grab it. But if you have a canopy or a full bed it wont work well

I'm talking about while driving up in the mountains.  I dont like my bow just sitting behind my seat on the ground and don't really have room for a case behind my seat.  I was just wondering if anyone else had a way to mount their bow with a little bit of easier access.  Obviously if I'm on a longer trip ill put it in the hard case in the bed.  But when I'm driving out to a hunting spot and see a deer or a grouse or need my bow that isn't the quickest method.

I like the soft cases.  Might have to invest in one I guess.

For long haul the bow rides in my hard case, but once we get into camp or for traveling up and down the roads for what ever reason I use this seat mounted bow carrier.

It's pretty handy for running to another area or back into town to resupply and still being able to quick dismount if need be to chase the occasional road elk.  :chuckle:

I have a soft case that my wife sewed some straps to so that it ties to the jump seat in my Tacoma. Bows are some what delicate so I wouldn't recommend leaving it without a case in your truck.
