Utah usually starts hitting credit cards in about 4 weeks. I am looking forward another great year! Hopefully my family and I will get some luck!! 2015 was fantastic!
Anybody else hoping for some Utah luck in 2016?
-
Waiting on New Mexico any day now and then Utah- not real optimistic though. First time putting in for either and the odds weren't very good for nonresident. Then to buy a Wyoming point and out in for idaho in June if I remember correctly.
-
Probably used up my Utah luck for a few years after drawing late Book Cliffs elk last year.
But I'd love some luck on Book Cliffs muzzy deer this year!
-
Paunsy muley tag is what I'm hoping for, or a Zion sheep tag!
-
That mountain out your window Shane is calling my name! Kid pulled it in 2011. Un freakin' believable. Of course a sheep tag would probably put me in the hospital, but it's a risk worth taking! :chuckle:
-
I'm in on Utah. Here is to hoping.
-
I'm in for deer and elk and bison draws in Utah. Not many points so not holding out too much hope but can still dream right?
Good luck to all in the draw!
-
Long odds for me but i have my fingers and toes crossed.
-
Got 4 across the board...one of these days I should theoretically draw something...

We are hoping to draw Wasatch Mtn East (archery). First year down there. So if anyone has advice it would be greatly appreciated. I have been using google earth everyday!
-
Hey ffbowhunter, I've not hunt the Wasatch but have family and other contacts down there. Free feel to get in touch if you draw and I'll get you started.
-
Hoping. My dad has a decent chance at drawing Book Cliffs Muzzy Deer.
-
My odds don't look very promising but there is always hope. It would be nice to put my 17 bison points to use.
-

I'd go for that Zion tag!
-
I am in for deer and elk drew antelope last year so I have to wait a couple years to apply again

-
Any idea what day we r getting results?
-
Last year my credit card was charged on May 18th.
-
I'd go for that Zion tag!
So if I draw, you're interested in helping to pack and glass?
-
16 points for elk! Fingers crossed!
-
Good luck Alaskan! What unit did you put in for?
-
Fillmore and Beaver for elk, how about you?
-
Beaver and Monroe
-
I think they hit today. Because I have a pending charge!!!

:yike:
I don't have any on mine... Maybe there's still time? :chuckle:

I've got 15 points for elk so I'm getting close. Some of my hunters have quite a few points too. One of my guides who lives in Utah said they drew yesterday. It doesn't show on the UDWR website yet, I just checked.
-
I got hit last night for the general season buck. Nothing on the harder draws yet. Probably more to come in the next week. Can't wait, this is now my yearly trek. Love that place. Hopefully get that buck and a nice cow this year with the bow.

nothing for me yet, had a buddy draw a deer tag though.
-
Central Mountains/Manti, tried it for the first time last year and fell in love. Getting there 5 days before the season just to enjoy and scout. Come on August, hurry up and get here!

Good luck! We put in for Wasatch East and this will be our first year.

nothing on mine yet
-
Nothing for me yet, as expected. I didn't really care if I drew this year so I went pretty long odds.
-
just checked their site hasn't changed :dunno:
-
FFbowhunter, if the Wasatch is anything like Manti start working out. We hunted around 10,000FT and it kicked my ass. Working out heavy now to get ready, only 3 months and 7 days still opening.
It is beautiful there plus there are lots of animals. I stalked through the woods looking for cows and kept finding mulies bedded down. Really cool being 30yards away and they think you cant see them.
My guide and I were glassing one morning and all of a sudden 4 bucks ran across the ridge about 4 hundred yards away. Two good shooters in the bunch. I had stalks for big bucks and little 4x4s and does kept getting in the way. Never seen anything like it. So cool.

Nothing on my credit card

536. General archery deer. Wasatch East was my 1st choice and with the odds I would be shocked if we did not draw that unit.

Ive hunted that LaSalle unit for over 20 years, if you know the area you will see some monster bulls. Hunt runs concurrent to the muzzy deer hunt and most years we could have taken several very nice bulls while deer hunting. They come and go from the private ranches and if you get to know the coming/going spots it really helps. If you hit it right you'll hear more whistling and grunting in one day than you'll hear around here in a month. Good Luck. I never seem to be able to draw.

You and I should talk more, I have hunted it twice before both late rifle hunts. Should be a fun hunt

Late rifle hunt is a lot different than the muzzy hunt. You'll be surprised how many hunters you'll see, but most don't really get out an hunt much.(muzzy hunt in Utah is a way bigger thing than here in Wa.) Usually very warm and you'll need to take into consideration cooling your animal. I've been down there on some muzzy hunts where the daytime temperature is in the 80's. Animals still move a lot for water which is usually not a factor on the late hunt. Depending on where you go, the summertime mtn. bikers and hikers can be a real pain in the ---, nothing like sneaking up a trail and running into a dozen mtn. bikers riding down it. Lot of the roads have been converted over to ATV only the last couple of years and recommend taking one along if you have one. It's a great hunt, and sometimes just messing around we've called in 2-3 nice bulls while deer hunting-biggest bull I've seen in my life nearly ran over me down there a couple of years ago during the muzzy deer hunt.
-
Unsuccessful across the board for me. Deer, Elk, Sheep, Goat, Moose. :bash:
-
I applied for everything, got nothing. :(
16 points next year for elk!
-
Geeze - my brother drew the San Juan unit elk tag. Did'nt think anyone in my family would live long enough to do that. Guess I'm gonna have to grab some time and go with him on that one, that unit is an elk hunters greatest wish.
-
Congrats to all the LE draw winners. Dreaming of making before I am too old to use it. I did get my Manti general season Buck tag. Over the counter cow tag is a coming. Best two weeks of the year. Working my butt off to get in shape, those mountains kicked my tail last year.
FFbowhunter: Congrats on that Buck tag. Have a great time and keep me posted on success or not.
