Well unless we're still in 2015 and they selected the exact same 6, I'm still holding out hope   :tung:
That's last year's winners

Do any of you think competition with the elk herds hurts the deer population in Kapowsin? I went for a hike yesterday and saw 40-45 elk and only 1 deer. Then 2 more deer driving out but that's it.

I think making it any Buck is going to destroy what's left of the deer population. Only saw 1 legal buck this last year. I also think Hancock could give out a few more Bull tags and not hurt the herds at all. But that's my  :twocents:

i 100% agree with both of you!   And they need predator control, I don't think it's a coincidence that since hound hunting was banned the deer population has gone down.  And they could easily give 10 permits for 3 pt or better and 5 spike tags.

As opposed to drawing it twice in a matter of what? months? days? You've just got sour grapes in your cereal bowl. By the way, who are you talking about?

I was thinking they could do 10 for each weapon. 10 archery 10 muzzy and 10 rifle. There's people who don't even fill the tag if they draw in there! Guy I know talked a hunter who drew and he didn't fill the tag and that hunter knew someone who didn't fill it either. Making it any Buck is crazy. What's also crazy is the amount of doe tags and archery being any deer. Guys can draw multi and go smack a doe in December if they don't kill a buck during the rifle hunt.

The elk pushed all the deer into the Eatonville Town limits, which was put off limits to hunting this last winter.

I know someone that didn't fill the tag , he was holding out for 350 + . He had chances just didn't work out, he knew what he wanted and wasn't going to settle for less , to each their own .

Ya, there are Elk every where. They could give out a few more tags and not hurt the herds at all. Also, then they might sell all the passes if they drew for more elk. My  :twocents:

i don't believe you can buy more than one permit, but he's got some trick that's working quite well.  :chuckle:  he's beaten the odds incredibly well, very lucky guy.  Hope he kills a pig to go with his Dahl sheep!

Good for Rudy. He is a member on here ran into him a couple times up there, he is a great guy who always knows where the bigger bulls are. I can't wait to see what he can pull out of there. If you need any help rudy get ahold of me

They could give 10 permits for each weapon forever at this point and there would still be an increase in bull population.........by a lot...there are more bulls dying from old age and fighting at this point than by legal hunting.   Most of the hunters still shoot 5 or 6 year old bulls some of which are pretty nice but not too many of the old bruisers get shot.

Ya it's equal oppurtunity every year. Just seems fishy someone would draw it 3 times without arrangement with Hancock somehow.

He's only drawn it twice and bought a single permit just like everyone else. Nothing fishy at all, just got lucky.

Stupid statements like this are what make this forum entertaining!

Please, disclose how you came to the conclusion that Trav has a "fishy agreement" with Hancock. I'd love to get in on it myself!

There's nothing fishy at all, he's not the first to draw it twice theres been a few draw it more then once. sorry if the statement I made about hoping he tops his last bull in there gave anyone a drama *censored*... it's all luck of the draw, he got lucky and his name pulled again, no strategy no "fishy agreement" etc.

Rudy killed a respectable mid 330's bull with 5 minutes left in his season.......he hunted for a couple of the true monsters in there for the entire hunt and never got a shot that he felt comfortable with.....Could have more than likely sealed the deal with a couple 350 class bulls and one mid to high 360's bull but did not want to pursue a bull smaller than the 2 largest bulls he turned up scouting until the last couple evenings and then things did not quite work out....

He was willing to eat his tag rather than compromise on what he wanted until he really had no chance to do anything other than eat his tag or shoot the last bull he saw before dark on the last day..

Pretty satisfying I would say....No one knows more about the big boys habits out there than Rudy but sometimes things just don't quite work out..... that is why it is called hunting.

Anyone should be thrilled with a 330" bull on the westside, especially if the guy worked his butt off for it. Sure sounds like he did. Congrats to the hunter.
