Title: youth quality points
Post by: ridgefire on May 15, 2016, 04:07:11 PM: Is it possible to buy a youth quality elk point without buying the tag? I am hoping to get a point for my son but hate to donate the extra money to the state. I know it's not much but just the fact of paying extra for a point when there is no plan of hunting elk here in Wa.

Quality and Youth are separate categories. If he has a hunting license he can purchase a point in each category.

Quality and Youth are separate categories. If he has a hunting license he can purchase a point in each category.
And an elk tag. You can apply for the point option for OIL tags without a tag, but you have to have a tag to apply for deer or elk, including point only options

I know I would. I don't see much of an advantage for my kids with the permits that are available. I would still put in for my permits, but would not be able to take the time off for them if drawn. Maybe if the time. Slots were staggered a bit they might have a chance of filling the permit.
