Title: New hunter in JBLM looking for mentor/ hunting partner
Post by: Bassinit on May 24, 2016, 08:24:59 AM: Never hunted but I want to learn, my sons are getting older and I want to teach them to preserve this great American tradition. Looking for someone to help me learn so I don't have to go at it alone. Particularly interested in waterfowl but open to anything. Thanks in advance.

I'm with a group that trains our bird dogs on JBLM every Wed. It's mostly upland work, but we do some waterfowl work also. You and the kiddos are welcome to come out an learn with us. We will be on TA 15 tomorrow starting at 9 AM.

I also do mentoring of youth for upland hunting. If Wed. does not fit your schedule, maybe we can put something together on a weekend. I do not charge for the birds or my time.

They also schedule and facilitate some really good outdoor ventures. Give em a holler and see what they have coming up.

Post by: metlhead on June 14, 2016, 02:54:42 PM: I do alot of waterfowl hunting during the late season and always willing to bring new folks out. We have had some large groups on our diver hunts, mostly JBLM guys, and have a great time. Just need to show up and jump in a boat.
