curious how everyone cures/prepares their shrimp. Planning on some salmon fishing (ID) and was trying to cut some costs, wondering if I should try to do some myself or ...suck it up and pay. What say you fisherman.? Cures/color/salt/?? What works for you?

I just use rock salt and a tiny bit of Bor X O Fire for color. Served me well this winter for steelies.

I've used Nate's Baits prawn cure in the past with good results but most commonly I just pony up for some store bought, precured ones.

I'm all about doing it myself. With the limited time I have available to fish, I'd rather spend a little more time and prep the shrimp myself. At least that way I know exactly what's on my hook and can rule out "bad bait". :twocents:

Thanks fellas, I'll give it a try. ( if I get skunked I'm placing all the blame with you) :chuckle:
