I built the bow - three piece recurve with Birdseye Bubinga riser, carbon limbs... Built the string... 450+ 12 strand endless.... Made the arrows, footed spruce with blood wood footing... Mad the broad heads out of saw blades.....

SO COOL!  I have a bow form and a buddy and I have plans, but things always seem to come up when we start assembling pieces

Now that's some true DIY! Awesome job :)

Thanks for the compliments. I just like making stuff! Here is my newest batch of arrows. To go with my screen name Scotsman I used the Robertson clan tartan with the Robertson family crest - the sword with Honor / Glory / mercy on the handle, then fletched with red bar turkey feathers and white tracer. And yes, I shoot these all the time.

I cut, install inserts, crest, fletch my arrows.  I have a good source for 5" right wing shield cut feathers and they're cheaper than buying full length feathers and chopping them myself.

I make my own targets, but I do have one cheap store bought.  For field points I take feed sacks that they'll sell you for a dollar or give to you free at places like Coastal Farm and Ranch or Tractor Supply Company etc.  I bring home the vinyl wrap that covers pallets we get in at my job, the vinyl wrap I bring home is the stuff that is woven like a tarp only thinner.  4-5 sheets of that in a feed sack compressed semi tightly, close the top with zip ties and your in business.  They work for fast moving lightweight arrows from compounds way back when I shot them, and my 650 grain arrows from my longbow.

For broadhead targets, spray foam in a cardboard box.  It will last a longtime if you shoot your broadheads enough to verify impact and tune, less if you shoot your broadheads a lot.

I just ordered two spools of BCY X to learn to make my own flemish bowstrings.

Haha I'm glad some other guys jumped in with the primitives. Nice arrows! I use ocean spray, turkey, and obsidian. What are your's squidward? Anyone else make their knives and bows too? Didn't think you could do too much DIY with compounds, guess I was wrong!

Tracker0721, I use OS & Dogwood mainly, the one dark one is from a old growth fir from my grandpa's barn. I have made me a knife to go with my bow and arrows. I'm looking for a kill this yr with them. Squidward
