So I'm looking to invest in some Kuiu. I have been using core4element however, they are no longer in buisness. I plan on purchasing some Kuiu for my Utah archery deer hunt. If you had 300 bucks what setup would you get? I find the older I get the more difficult it is to spend money...

I really like the attack pant. Some of the most comfortable pants I've worn. They're great for early season archery. Haven't tried any of the other pants. Their merino stuff is also nice.

I was looking at attack or alpine because those have knee pads.

4 garments I really like -
1) superdown jacket - weighs like 2 ounces and fits in a sandwich bag. great insulation layer or backup. I have the zip-t once but would like the full-zip.
2) chugach rain gear. The Standard.
3) Teton puffy. Like $100 on sale. Wear it for every day.
4) Gaiters
Have the guide jacket, pants. Not really sure about those yet. If its dry any pant works and if its wet you need chugach and wool unders.

Unfortunately, $300 won't go very far with Kuiu gear, but ditto on the Attack pants. Love them. However, they don't do real well if you are around sticker bushes. One item I just bought is the Ultra Merino 145 Zip-Off Bottoms. Being able to quickly take them off or put them on without taking off your boots is genius.

Entire Teton kit is $600....
If I had to choose early season hunting top and bottom... Tiburon top and attach pant with knee pads... Together will be about $230.
-
For $300 and versatility go with the Alpine pants, (they are awesome, I have two pairs and the knee pads are very well thought out) and look at a Peloton 200 Hooded quarter zip or the 240 full zip. If you have Core 4 stuff, keep using those base layers. Those two combined and you should have a few bucks left over.

I would go with the chinooks. They are more but there are more pockets and pads are under the fabric.

...and here comes the kuiu crybabies, just like they do to every thread about kuiu.
I'm sorry you weren't satisfied with your experience, but enough already. You are in the vast minority.

The vast minority of people who ordered items that were not in stock? I don't think so. It's very common. I've never ordered anything from them because of their lack of inventory. Every time I've tried, they didn't have have what I wanted so I gave up. About 90% of my clothing is Sitka gear.

What's the other 10%? Blue jeans and hickory shirts!! :chuckle:

I don't own a Hickory shirt. Plenty of blue jeans though.
-
There was a time in my life that I wore hickory shirts every day

If you like the Core4element, it still regularly shows up on www.camofire.com.

So I'm gunna go with alpine pants, tuburon top, peloton 200 top, really would like a rain jacket but I'm gunna get core4elent train coat on sale.
-
i wouldnt get both the tiburon and the peloton i would choose one or the other then add a merino 145 top instead for a base layer. the attack pants are the most comfortable pair of pants i have ever worn. so i would go with those for sure, and since your limit is 300 i would go with the peloton 240 top with the hood. there is a good sale going on now as someone has already mentioned might have enough to add a merino 145 long sleeve also

Don't have to wear the same brand everywhere. :twocents:
:yeah: Kryptek raingear and insulated jacket, FirstLite wool pants and socks, kuiu wool baselayers and gloves, random cabelas tops, gloves, wool hat and neck gaiter.
I really like kuiu full zip baselayers. I heat up really fast so even into freezing Ill go just pants and a tshirt(usually gloves and a hat). Then when I stop I can throw on the baselayers with ease. I dont know what Utah hunting is like but I would let the weather determine my selection ... as well as my current setup and where I would like to see improvements.

50 dollars to put toward kuiu, what to get? Invest in a big item or try some of their accessories like gloves socks underwear etc?

I love the bino harness!
-
From kuiu I love there alpine pants and soft shell jacket.
-
What would I Kuiu? All. I'm even considering trying a pair of they're boots. I figure Ill only spend 200$+ on a good pair of boots anyways because you almost always get what you pay for, whats another 100$ for a solid hunting platform, Everything hunting you do, rely's on your feet. No feet = no hunting.

Love their Alpine Pant and Bino Harness
