Feel free to PM if you wish to keep anything on the low. Not looking for place or tactics. Just if there is any action on the river at all yet for steel.
I will be starting to head out soon. Just not sure if it is worth it this coming weekend yet or not.
Back in 2009 and 2010 I swear it was already in full swing by June 1.
In 2010 most of my steelhead on the Lewis were punched by the end of the first week in June.
Just putting out feelers if anyone has heard or seen much.
If anyone is in the same boat I am I will let ya know what I see when I do go.

I am curious about this as well. Last year I spent some time plunking in the Columbia and caught a few but am looking to step up my game this year! Any info appreciated.

i always thought the river's timing was more on par with the cowlitz, with early-mid july being the best time? that said, i haven't fished it since probably 2009, and not to much success. that river's summer run is a real sad story, how far things have gone downhill there.

Yea, the summer run there has gone pretty downhill. The first 2 years I fished it they ended up allowing up to 3 per day limit and then one year they upped it to 6. Since then it just dropped dramatically. When I first started I fished the hatchery hole and would see 6 - 12 hooked a day pretty easily depending on time in the season. Now it has been 1 or 2 in the last couple years and that's on a good day.
