Over on trapperman it sounds like NAFA just did a fire sale on Red Fox, Grey Fox, Cats, and Beaver. Not looking good right now.

Not looking good ........... :bash: ......... Whats new
JC

They aren't selling coon for a $1.00........ yet.

Definitely not good but seems like one of those necessary evils. With the overall decline in the fur market, having warehouses full of fur doesn't help anyone. Hopefully the clearance of fur, recent low prices and decline of fur trappers because of prices, will eventually create a demand that drives prices back up.

Well, I can't say I am happy with the situation. I understand there is pretty much no demand, NAFA has a lot of furs sitting and they want to move them.
Trouble is where are those furs going? The bulk of them aren't going anywhere. Speculators bought them and they will be back at the auction later. My understanding is some of the stuff never leaves NAFAs warehouse.
I would have liked to see NAFA protect trappers a little more instead of selling for next to nothing.

And now no Sept sale because NAFAdoesn't have enough furs to hold a sale. :bash:

hopefully that brings demand up a bit in the future

Sept. has always been a clean up sale, usually the worst prices. Seems like they just did that.
I think there is plenty of fur out there for a sale though but the speculators have large enough accounts they can set price limits. They know there isn't anybody buying that is end user. No point.
All those furs they gave away will be back at auction eventually. Somebody else will be making money on them.
