Title: What to make of the weather this spring?
Post by: JDHasty on July 05, 2016, 02:04:12 PM
We had an unusually cool spring, it is July and the rockchucks are still out.   The latest I have ever shot chucks was ~ the third week of June and the shooting was at best spotty.  Here is what is really crazy - one of the orchards I shoot in the orchardist said that last year was the first year he had ever harvested cherries in May and this year he had ripe fruit two weeks earlier than last year.

I just got a scouting report and from what I am hearing it may be worth it to take a day off work this week and make one last power-run to central Washington.   The heck of it is... I have guns torn down already and have sent scopes in for overhaul and/or modification on the rifles I would need in that locale.   I have spare scopes laying around, but that means a trip to the range tomorrow evening at the very latest.
