Of course I love all big blacktails, but there is something cool about a big two point. Let's see your pictures. Dead or alive.

I just got this one off of a camera I checked last weekend. The date is wrong but it's from last fall.

Looks like a benchleg.

It might be. But you can see Puget sound from the area this camera was.

I think this is the same guy. You can see his tail in this pic.

Oh jeez. It was in reference to a post that blew up into unrealistic proportions last fall when a guy posted a pic of a nice mule deer buck and someone said it was dead but refused to give any details. It was meant to be funny bud, relax. Its a great picture, pretty please, put it back up.

All good, I am aware of the thread, just not wanting to high jack OP'ers thread.

I'll replace it with a mediocre 2x crab claw 3 from last year. This buck is also dead.

This one is alive. Quick picture of him taking a nap.

Here's one fresh out of the cam today. This bugger took a stroll at 0750 on July 17th. It's hard to tell from the angle, but I think he may be outside his ears in width. Definitely a thick mature buck.

My neighbors think my backyard has that much brush in it - (I just prefer to call it natural landscaping). This buck was digitized about 50 yards from where I shot my buck last year, out/up in Kitsap. He won't get a pass if I see him this fall.
-
Rattled in this big old buck last fall. Pretty sure he was blind in his left eye.

Kitsap is the spot to hunt right fish? Great combination between the open land and high deer populations. I really like the fact I barely have to deal with any brush at all. Barely and blackberries and absolutely no salal and other brush. Plus you don't have to worry about random reprod that appears out of no where despite the fact you are no where near tree company land. Basically kitsap is the dream spot to hunt ;)

You got it right, but I think you forgot to mention there's no massive scotch broom patches either - and the bucks are just out there walking around in the middle of the day! It's a dream hunt!
-
Wife took this picture from our back yard today. Neighbor has a driveway behind us and a small orchard. Seems to be a fork with some real tall antlers and the bases look pretty thick.
-
Stud two points!
-
:yeah: He's super cool. Four, maybe five year old - maybe older considering the mass at the bases? I wonder if this guy is going to pop out another tine next year. He's got no white on his face that I can see, so I doubt he's regressing.

He'll of a day for forks a few years back.

My best forkie

Found him while scouting on Wednesday. Thought he was a Three at first. But not a bad Two.

Here's a big Sitka fork that gave me the slip out of Cordova. But only because I forgot to load my gun when I went ashore that morning. Did a perfect sneak to 30 yards and He stood up out of his bed and......click, Jack, click....... oh @#%^$%^@#$. That is salt water behind him, Prince William Sound. You can see it better in the second photo.
-
A couple more big Prince William Sound forkies, one autumn buck from up on the mountain and a beach buck from November.

Here's a Coweeman forkie that I shot while hunting with my wife. A couple of firsts for her: never seen her hubby shoot any game (she rarely goes with me into the woods) and never wears her boots I bought her for Christmas. She also watched me fight/kill the buck with my knife. Yeah, I made the mistake a leaving my rifle in the truck, thinking I wouldn't want her to drop it (she drops crap all the time!) while I packed the deer out. Good times.

Yup! You'd be hard pressed to find a picture of a true forked rack bigger than gramps got - anywhere!

I'd be happy with just about any of those bucks, keep up the good work lads.

And i thought the blacktail forky i shot in 2012 was likely going to be the biggest bt 2pt i ever see in the wild. Guess not. Heres the 2pt from 2012 460 late tag.

Good times.
Had to do the same thing with my brother's spike buck last year. He only had 2-3 shells and shot all of them and then we had to track it down and club it with the butt of the shotgun.

Nice meeting you out there today. If I ever need a nice big 2pt I know who to follow. :chuckle:
-
Ive had a bunch of other big 2 points but I thought he was the coolest. Probably one of the oldest bucks Ive ever got on camera.
-
I got a bunch of pics and videos but it won't let me post any of them, looks like they are sized properly :dunno:
-
-Open photos with Windows Paint program,
-pick the resizing option,
-check the pixels option,
-then choose somewhere around 800 X 600 pixels.
-"Save as" and give it a new name, so you don't ruin the original photo,
-then post that big two-point monster here.

Still rubbing it in that I missed a chance at that one I see. ;)

Day after Christmas a few years back.

Nice ones guys!
Cowboy - Is it my imagination or does that buck have a three inch eyeguard on the left side?
-
fishnfur: No. That's actually on the pack board. He has a 1 inch eyeguard on his right side nothing on the left.

That is pretty much the perfect 2 point Blacktaildreamer! Love the mass throughout the entire rack, and the dark color, and the gnarly bases!

Daughter shot at this deer the year before with a muzzleloader and missed or so she thought !!

He will be mounted eventually, (cash flow problem at the moment)it's her first kill. She was really disappointed not to get him her first year hunting but got him the second year and I think the story is better now as well !!

-
Sweet!!! You able to hunt there?
Yes, but he was always nocturnal so I went to a deer that was regularly on during daytime
-
Nice going (with a long bow)! How close were you able to get and do you use tree stands?

That's a proud moment! When you set up 10 yards off a trail (I'm assuming), do like your tree stand up 20 feet or do you go lower?

I used a 16' last stand. I'm was hunting over apples, so I could get them in close. I'm actually going to set up about 12 to 15 yards this year to cut down on the steep angle.
-
Definitely a goal of mine, a blacktail buck with my recurve. I had a stand set up for this last year but used a 270 during late buck at 10 yards to take my first deer. 20 feet was probably too high for an archery shot, in retrospect.
-
Biggest two ive ever taken
-
He has some good mass, nice buck whiskey

I like 20 to 25 feet for compound.

Whiskey,
That's a Keeper!!
I have shot some decent 2 Pts up Wilkeson way over the last 28 years.
Now that it's all pay to play it's a little tougher.
Keep at it.
Rob.

Great thread! I'll play....

-
Holy crap Lewy, that's a beast.

Great bucks - both of them. One tall as hell, the other with crazy mass. Good stuff!

Another pic shows the mass on the old stud
-
Might as well add one.
-
That is a smoker bigbore! Great buck!
-
FishVac.
That is a nice buck!
Looks likee you got him in Old Growth.
I love hunting that heavy timber, most shots at less than 50 yards and many less than 25.

Thanks. Yes on the old growth. I heard him coming and shot him at 30 yards when he came over a ridge. He was facing me and I thought he was a 4pt that was on the trail cam from a day or two earlier.
-
Couple Big 2s we got on camera
-
Try to straighten it for you
-
Nice blacktail.
-
Nice bucks westside......... too bad you thought they were 4pts when you shot them..... :dunno:....or did you shoot a few tines off in the excitement :yike:
Just kidding...

I was forwarded this from a friend..... From my understanding this picture was taken on private property near day break park in Clark County. Definitely one hell of a fork. This photo in was taken last November during rut.

I'll bite. What does "with eyes" mean?
Nice buck. With my poor eyesight, he looks like a 3 X 2 or maybe 4 X 2. Nice and tall though.
-
"Eyeguards". For the rest of us, it's brow tines.

Yeah b/c if your shooting down at too steep an angle with a stick bow your bottom limb tends to hit the stand after you release. Learned that one the hard way!

Not the rest of us. I call them eyegaurds too. As well as the majority of the people I know.

:yeah: everyone I know calls them eyegaurds on deer. And my autocorrect must have changed it from eyegaurds to eye’s, not sure what happened there. But who cares.
-
Yeah, I know, it's a Washington thing.
-
Naaa, it's a blacktail/mule deer thing. I call them eyeguards too.
I thought you might have been referring to the crab claws appearing to be eye shaped.
