A dead cow found this week in Ferry County was confirmed as a wolf kill, yesterday 2 more dead cattle were found that were killed and eaten by wolves. This is the wolf conflict page, it hasn't been updated with these incidents yet, but the incidents are being reported on our local radio.

Where at in Ferry county did they say?

:mgun: :mgun: :mgun:

They were probably sick and dying cattle. The wolves wouldn't normally do something like that. :bash:

I missed the location, my wife thought they said on Boulder Creek.
-
Another rancher we know has lost 3 cattle this year southeast of Colville. From what I heard three cattle were found dead, when they went back to confirm it was wolves one had disappeared, so they would only confirm two kills. :bash:
-
Next time there's a cattle kill put a little medicine on the carcass. the cow is the farmers property you can put whatever you want on it.
-
Rumor has it Strychnine does wounders
-
Probably a lot of work, but it would be good info if there was a map of Wa. with pin points at each confirmed Wolf predation site. Maybe another one with confirmed sightings. (although that one could get full in some areas).
-
Non-leathal methods for wolves killing livestock has never worked, calling on WDFW for livestock problems only prolongs the killings, as we have already seen.
I really feel sorry for people who haven't realized that the only difference between WDF&Wolves and the wolves that are feeding off their stock, is the leg count.

I heard it again on the radio, they said South Boulder, that's right in the heart of the Profanity Pack.

Friend sent me this photo a while back of a lucky calf...
-
This could be one of the beef eaters too?
-
Calling all Native American tribes... Nothing stopping you from hunting these critters right now. If you want to still shoot your elk you might want to start!

Ive got 8 different wolves in 2 packs on cam in ferry county this year, every one of them black. That one you posted is the first ive seen of a grey one up there. Of course there are plenty of undocumented wolves everywhere, im just assuming that the black 6 pack in the pic i posted is the profanity peak pack because of the area its in, and the number of wolves. Im trying to get the state to get its butt in gear on some undocumented wolves in stevens county right now. Got an email reply from jay shephard, left me his phone # but hasnt returned my voicemail.

I've seen pictures of a few grays in Ferry County, I can't find it but I've got a photo of another gray pretty close to South Boulder. The gray in this photo is near Sherman Pass.
-
There's a gray one that runs with a black one up on Sherman pass.

The guy who took this photo saw another wolf with this one, I think he said it was black. Probably the same wolves you're talking about.

Seen gray and black on Brown and Quartz Mt.
-
I guess there is a emergency meeting about this today at the court house in Republic, Got a strange feeling there going to say yep there's wolves in them there hills.

Wouldn't that be awesome! If I was a tribal member I would be there in a flash!

:yeah: those guys do hunt up there, and really i havent seen any problem from it. Id love to see thrm start whacking wolves in 101 if theyre allowed to. If any enrolled colville tribe members are on here and want to shoot a wolf in the north half, and can do so legally, feel free to pm me.

I'm sure we can up the anti with all the ammo you can shoot and posible firearms! Once the wolf's are under control then head down the Columbia and wipe out the Sea Lions!!!! I sure hope the Tribes steep up the pace on this. Maybe us Americans can start a 'Go Fund The Tribes Account 'to get this off the ground faster. Or take some of the Federal monies the Tribes already get to fund this project as well. By By Wolfe and Sea Lions!!!!! :IBCOOL:

Some of the comments made me wonder! Would it be possible to offer a reward to tribal members who legally harvest a wolf? :dunno:

:chuckle: Like anything would be done to them if they ILLEGALLY harvest a wolf.

Good point, i forgot wdfw wont touch tribal members with a 10ft pole. So lets start a running wolf bounty, open to all tribsl members. Kickstarter or gofundme, something like that?

If you're in FB, go to RBBP and ask them. They're pretty active on that page.
-
My bosses father in law is a Bio and I guess he's up hunting wolves today with another guy somewhere by Colville. They're going to shoot a few they believe were involved in the cow killings you guys are talking about.
-
Do you know if they could use any help :chuckle:
-
Seen gray and black on Brown and Quartz Mt.
There was a "pack" on Iron Mt this spring.

:yeah: I know people who heard them howling, my wife heard them too, and we know people who saw those wolves this spring.

Don't see why not? It could be like gambling some how.... The Tribes kill wollfs the more they kill the bigger the pot is. Same with the Sea Lions.

It seems like the only way to get wolf management? :twocents:
