I saw that too. The Facebook post was reported. So obviously they didn't like being incriminated. Make sure to share this and let everyone know who these loosers are

Dang, they are already taken down!

Glad they caught these punks in the act. Hopefully the get some time for this, but doubtful
-
Hopefully they are not huntwa members :o
-
with as many people reading this forum as there are, i'll bet at least one is a trail camera thief. I'd really like one of them to let us all know why they think it is OK to take or destroy other peoples stuff. :dunno:
-
I saw a couple of the posts on FB about it, but there were no videos. :dunno:

Is that a closed site?
-
Is that a closed site?
hmm.. It may be, not sure.
-
I think that Facebook is a closed site. I can't get on it through my wife's.
Anyone posting on his wall or calling his employer in the morning?
-
Just watched it. Hard to believe he was able to get an armed man to show him his ID. Owner was pissed!
-
If this was Facebook I'd say this just a bit different, what a couple of d bags!! So glad they got caught and the video was there, perfect. I hope all there family, friends and co workers see the post!
-
amazing they caught them in the act, but i'm over here still wondering what kind of cam and lock box they used! LOL!
-

He said he had a python lock, but I had one of those and the *censored*s broke it real quick. I wouldn't recommend a python, the two most important things I thing are a lock that doesn't allow room for bolt cutters and lag bolting the box to the tree. The best idea is to bring a small ladder and hang it up high, but of course the thieves will start bringing ladders soon.
-
Exactly the reason I stick with $49 WI cameras and put them in low traffic areas. I have never even had a picture of another person on any of my trail cameras.
-
Say what area they were caught in?
-

Facebook removed the post.

I saw the video this morning. Cam owner was more calm than I would have been.

That local 32 member Nathan Allison is 31 years old! Plenty old enough to know better, not that age should matter. I wonder what the union thinks about this?

Looks like well known poachers and thieves. Read the comments
-
I think it's a good thing you weren't alone.
-
This is an excellent excuse for WDFW enforcement to pay them a visit and see what else they find. I am sure that this alone provides probable cause to go over their place of residence with a fine toothed comb.
-
They both need a hickory shampoo
What's a hickory shampoo?
I thought I'd heard of most everything by now. I guess not.

I was thinking it must be some sort of a beating with a piece of wood. Thanks for clarifying and thanks for asking Jackelope.

Trail Cameras Matter To...... :chuckle:

I'm thinking is a pretty good chance that there is some prior offense out there that one/both have a deferred sentence hanging over their head or are on probation for.... If so, too bad, so sad, shoulda' thought about that before screwing w/someone else's property.

With him using a gun to commit a crime, will that cause him to lose his gun rights?
-
I seriously doubt anyone will be charged, just my opinion.
-
Both these guys have long records and both look like they have judgments pending. They need to spend time in jail.

Right on! This should erase any deals that their attorney's have in the works for them and send everyone back to the drawing board. They have just shown that any leniency on the part of the court is unwarranted. Now here is a big one, suggest to the prosecutors office that no hunting be part of any deal. Then when, not if, they violate, and get caught, hey we are not looking at rocket scientists or brain surgeons here, it starts to build up a record on that front.
Believe me there are lots of guys who will turn them in for points who live right there and will know every move they make and if it is serial violators the points will be big enough to draw interest.
-
Also found out one of them already has a warrant out for his arrest and one is running a bear bait in his back yard. I'm sure if he is he has cleaned it up by now with all the Facebook talk. The guy that caught them said fish and game and the cops are on it, they are well known poachers as well as thieves.

Do you mean he is baiting? Which is completely legal? Please be more specific. The attempt on Facebook to put the guy down failed. Let's see if we can flush it here as well.
PS are you one of the guys in the pictures?

Take a look at Nathan Allisons face book - he just posted a bunch of videos showing a big bear bait set up- looking like all is in the wrong.
Bring on the popcorn!

I don't think there are any limits on baiting unless you hunt the bait.
If I understand the rules correctly, unless a bear is shot at the bait or there is more than 10 gallons available within a 400 yard circle, baiting is legal for hunting deer or elk.
If there is more than 10 gallons of bait available within a 400 yard circle it's illegal to hunt deer or elk, but i think it would be legal to place trail cams for photos. I don't think you can hunt deer or elk within 200 yards if there has been more than 10 gallons of bait available to consume at once.
(the way I understand it was written this way to allow feeders that only put a small amount out at one time)
If anyone reads the rules differently or knows differently please correct me.

I can't imagine someone sticking up for these guys, this situation is obvious, no guesses. These guys have been breaking the law for many years, and now they got caught red handed. This is where if you know them all you can say is, yup, they screwed up and they will most likely do it again. I wouldn't defend these guys with a 10' pole, it's just not going to work here.

Is that cob in the top picture?
I've never used it and am not entirely sure what it looks like.
-
The first bait pile looks like it's been there for awhile, the rest of it looks pretty fresh, well from the pics anyways, that first pile looks like a bear bait to me :dunno:
-
That red stuff looks like raspberry syrup, I know cause I use to use it on my bear baits.. :chuckle: damn I miss it :bash:
-
Is that cob in the top picture?
I've never used it and am not entirely sure what it looks like.
I think in the first pic the yellow stuff is what I call "whole corn", it's just the kernels. I use it in a rotary feeder, deer pick at it a little but mainly the birds and chipmunks like it at my place. I have better luck with antler max, apples and selenium mineral blocks to get deer and elk in front of my cameras.
-
Is that cob in the top picture?
I've never used it and am not entirely sure what it looks like.
cob is just corn oats and barley rolled or whole with or without molasses. Thats top pic looks like wet dog food or wet pellet stove pellets. Whole cob the oats will sprout if left in the elements this time of year creating a nice oat plot. :chuckle: that is the most unappetizing looking bait I have ever seen.
-
And the plot thickens.
-
It does look like the garbage is planted. Either way, it needs to be cleaned up.
-
-
Both have been busted for poaching as well
-
There are people worth sticking up for.....lots of them.
Someone caught in the act! Any defenders only lump them into the same company :twocents: :bash:

The classic look over there move. :chuckle: The fight could have been caught on camera and hopefully nobody would have died over a trail camera.

That's right! I hate to want to resort to violence, but these are hunters screwing over other hunters. Hunters already have a bad reputation. Let's hope the charges stick. He should call the prosecutor's office every two weeks to see what the status of the case is.

I am the guy that got his "stuff messed with" and you are 100% incorrect. The THREE wardens that went to said "bear bait" also agreed with me, hence the reason I was not charged with anything. Unfortunately, for your friends Cody and Nathan, they were BOTH charged.
Also found out one of them already has a warrant out for his arrest and one is running a bear bait in his back yard. I'm sure if he is he has cleaned it up by now with all the Facebook talk. So I am actually glad I found this post.
First let me reiterate, I WAS NOT BAITING BEARS. This happened in July and the last time I had a bear on camera I believe May. The three wardens(Summit, Prater, and Flowers) went out to the site and all agreed I was not baiting bears. They did question some stuff and I told them the 100% truth. They did ask if I knew the new reg about 10 gallons and I was 100% honest with them and told them it was more than 10 gallons but I was under the impression that if I wasn't hunting it, there could be more than 10. They explained the reg says if I have the INTENT to hunt there, it can't be over 10 gallons. I said roger and we moved on. As far as the trash goes, I found that to be a sad sad attempt of them trying to "frame" me. Then they posted a video of them being the "heroes" and picking it up. Now, I saw someone mention something about me having to explain to the owners of Manke. Funny you say that, he was the third person I personally called. I have a very good relationship with the owner and property manager. I let him know if I see ANYTHING out of place or strange.
Now, as far as getting the ID from him. He was SCARED. You could tell by the sound of his voice he was scared. I knew he had a gun and he was STILL SCARED. Guns don't scare me at all and I knew once his voice was cracking, he was mine. Doesn't help him that I'm 5'10 240 and the buddy I was with is 6'8 280.
Now, if you have ANY questions, please fell free to ask. I will answer them 100% truthfully, because I'm not the one being charged with anything and I have nothing to hide or lie about.
-
good for you I am glad they are being charged they have been let go to many times for poaching exc. there is no excuses to let them keep doing it glad you were honest I know those two from high school and they have never stopped shot 10 deer in one year and all they got was a fine after they went through court im still livid about that :bash: :bash:
-
Well its good to hear that these crooks were caught and will be prosecuted. Sounds like they have always gotten away with this. There's guys that you hear putting in the wives, kids, other relatives for permits then shooting their animal. Or shooting a bear and then their wives, dads, sisters, etc. bear. A few of them reside on here, it's my hope they too will be caught. It's one thing if the family or relatives actually do the hunting. :twocents:
-
Thanks for updating here with so many details. The one about the bait is super helpful. I was unsure about the 10 gallon rule when you weren't hunting, a bale of orchard grass is over the 10 gallon limit. I figured if I wasn't hunting in January it would be okay to toss out a full bail. Sounds like it is if I don't hunt that area. I think just to be safe I will break the bale up and spread it out in a couple of locations 200 yards apart.
Sorry for the sidetrack but thanks again for the additional details.
-
No problem. I HATE the "he said, she said" game and I hate when people assume things. That's why I I'm glad I found this thread, so everyone could get the 100% truth.
As far as the bait goes, they said it's all about intent. For example- If I dump 50 gallons of apples in front of a camera, and all I was doing was seeing whats in the area, I am good. If I dump 50 gallons in front of a camera and I intend to put a tress stand up in that area, I am not good. They said the key word is INTEND.
Now,he did ask me multiple times if I intended to hunt there, because it was over 10 gallons. He asked A LOT, and sometimes slow. I knew what he was trying to do. He wanted me to say "No" so it was a nonissue. Finally I said "I know you want me to say no. But I will continue to say yes. I'm not going to lie."
Thanks for updating here with so many details. The one about the bait is super helpful. *UPDATE*
Nathan was suppose to have his pre-trial conference last week but was unable to make it. The prosecutor called me and said that it has been rescheduled for 23 February and he plans on changing his plea from "Not guilty" to "guilty".

good to hear!

I appreciate your integrity and the fact that you're willing to come back and correct inaccuracies.
I hope those guys catch the max penalty...... and I totally applaud how you are handling it.
-
The pre-trial conference for Nathan Allison is SUPPOSE to be on Thursday. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it but I have been told that he will be changing his plea from "NOT GUILTY" to "GUILTY" I will be calling the prosecutor's office on Friday and I will get an update on what happened and what his punishment, if given one, was.
-
I will be more than a little despondent if the punishment is not harsh in such a cut and dried case.
-
I will be more than a little despondent if the punishment is not harsh in such a cut and dried case.
I'm sure it wont be harsh. The first guy got 10 days of electronic home monitoring, had to pay for the ankle bracelet and additional fines. But like I have told everyone, SOMETHING is better than nothing. Many people have had cameras stolen, nobody was lucky as I was to catch the person doing it.
-
I just got off the phone with the prosecutor's office. Nathan Allison changed his plea from "NOT GUILTY" to "GUILTY". I was told that these were his punishments: 20 days of at home electronic monitoring. He cannot leave his house for 20 days and has to pay for the electronic device tracking him. He is placed on probation until 2021. He must get an Interlock Ignition Device(a breathalyzer for your car) installed, he must pay fines, and restitution to be determined at a later date.
-
-
But question, why the breathalyzer for his vehicle? (sure i missed something)

I was confused by that as well. I was told it might have been for a prior conviction. He's a repeat offender.

Maybe I missed it, was this on private property or public land?

He must have already been on probation for a DUI or some other alcohol related criminal offense.
