I am going to try my hand at sockeye and king fishing in Brewsters later this week. I have only caught salmon on a charter and would like to see if I can catch anything on my own. Any advice? I have a downrigger and a fishfinder, I have hoochies, dodgers and herring. I know to go extremely slow, any advice on what to look for on the finder or will it be obvious if I can find them? :dunno: I bought a 16' pontoon Bass Buggy with a 40 HP, just getting used to what it can do and take. Any advice will be appreciated.

Pink hochie on a 12" leader behind a small silver dodger tipped with pink shrimp. 30' back attach downrigger. Fish normally are anywhere from 12-20' down

The first 30 minutes are generally better than all the rest of the day.

I've heard that this lure, made for Kokanee, works pretty good on Sockeye too

Zog knows

its not good and only getting worse by the day...very few fish coming over wells now and the Okanogan river has been cool enough at night that all the fish have blown thru unlike most years where the fish congregate waiting on it to cool this year has been the exception. Wenatchee lake is producing 6 fish limits rather quick, but you have to deal with that launch! :chuckle:

Thanks everyone for all of the advice, change of plans. I am going to hit Wenatchee. I have a question, is it even worthwhile to fish late afternoon on Thursday at lake Wenatchee or should I hit Fish lake for perch and trout?

Mack's lures did a quick infomercial on fishing Lake Wenatchee last week on FB. They had 24 by 6:30am. Get to the launch early like 4am as they said it took them 45 min to get to launch because of the traffic. 6 fish limit.

looking out on the pool right now, I think most made that same change. only 20 boats on the water this morning....

45 min to launch at Wenatchee is a good day! :chuckle: some are in line at 2 am taking up to 3 hrs to launch and 2 hrs to load up

Sockeye rig UT don't go too light on your leader cause Kings will smash it too
