Please keep your eyes open. This rack was stolen last night from the back of his truck at the Yella Beak Saloon.
This is a very unique monster of a bull. I'm sure that most of you have seen it at the sportsmans show or seen pictures of it.
-
Wow, unbelievable. And what exactly would the perp do with it? It's so identifiable, you'd have to keep it locked away.
Hope he finds it soon, unharmed.
-
WTF is wrong with people.
-
I hate scumbags like that! I hope the horns are recovered unscathed and returned to the rightful owner!

No frickin way??!! You have to be kidding us?? That's so messed up, the guys who took it are not going to be able to keep that hidden. Those antlers would not be in the back of my truck while I was in a bar, I really hope he gets those back!!!
-
If I might ask, why was it left unattended in the back of a truck?
-
Insured? Can't imagine taking a big rack to a bar and leaving it out in the back of a truck?
-
I wouldn't leave a rack like that in my truck behind a saloon without 2 armed guards, but then again I live in Krackima.
-
He was asking for trouble by leaving it in the bed of his truck at a bar. Really?? Didn't think that one through. Sucks
-
At least it's unmistakable! What a unique set of antlers. Hope he gets it back! (
-
Hopefully it is just a joke some of his buddies pulled on him. But to leave it unattended at a bar??????????? :dunno:
-
Maybe he was trying to show off and didnt work out well :dunno:
-
Who knows why he left it there. We don't know his situation
Thieves suck!!!!!!!!!!
-
Jake is a good guy mistakes are made he's human!
-
I don't know him but I sure hope he gets it back
Thieves suck
-
Probably show up at the Packwood sale come labor day.
-
wow Im so pissed and it isn't mine,I have friends and family around the area there I will get the word out..when was this bull taken???what a great bull...I wouldn't have walked away from that at all,it really sucks how things are these days,America is losing it,I sure hope we can turn things around...
-
would your buddy be pissed if I posted this on facebook????

its on my Facebook if you want to share it.

The saddest part about the whole thing is that we shouldn't have to worry about leaving anything unattended. Not saying it was a smart move to leave these horns out, but it's time to start getting things righted. People need to be scared about getting caught.
What does a guy do at Hunting camp?? Lock the meat and horns in his damn RV when he goes back to the field to hunt?
I won't say what should happen to these rotten thieves when caught.

I had a buddy who caught a couple guys backing an El Camino under his meat pole @about 2 am. He held them at the muzzle of an ought six for a couple hours until the law got there. Told them not to even twitch or he was going to ought six the both of them

Seems like a guy could've seen them make a move.

:yeah: Crooks suck.
-
My good friend had his bull stolen out of his truck last night, please contact with any info. Someone has to have a lead on this. Yes it is the hancock bull... any info anyone can give would be awesome.
-
If ok can administration keep this up towards the top for a while please...
-
Bummer man, sorry to hear theat hope it is recovered!
-
Man that sucks, I would be puking all over myself!! Will keep an eye out, can I ask why he would leave that bull in his truck over night??
-
Sad part is its prob all in the process of being made into pot pipes and knife handles!
-

that is what I fear as soon as the dirtbag realizes that it's too unique to try and sell or keep. I sure hope he gets it back in one piece. Damn shame
-
How is he already hunting? Guessing a Indian and hopefully he cannot shoot another one.

Sorry. Was thinking it was a bull from this year. Hopefully he finds it then 👍

Talk about jumping to conclusions before asking any relevant info. :chuckle:
On a serious note, was it a mount or euro? Can you provide some more info so people know what to look for?
-
Euro

I Assume a police report was made?
will keep a look out
-
Wow, he left that guy in his truck overnight?
-
Incredible bull! That just sucks! But talk about poor judgement if what is reported on the other thread is true. Who in their right mind would leave such an amazing trophy in the back of their rig while they are in a bar?
Sure hope he gets it back and the perps get hammered!
-
Wow, he left that guy in his truck overnight?
:yeah: especially at the yella beak not good.
-
I don't understand why its not at a taxidermists ? Drying to score ? idk.... Some punks need to be caught....
-
I know alot of people are wondering, why would he leave this in the back of his truck? I don't personally know him, but NOBODY deserves to have this happen ! Poor judgment on his part, yes, but whomever the *censored* is that stole it needs to be caught. I can't imagine how sick he feels right now. Let's help him find his record book trophy bull, get the word out.
-
What's ironic is I've been thinking lately of how I should probably be stashing antlers in the brush and deboning everything instead of letting it hang in Idaho for this exact reason. Unfortunate we even have to worry about it
-
Sticky'd.
Hopefully they find the guys and hopefully he learned a lesson re: leaving the bull in the back of the truck.

we have never had an issue in Idaho, my hunting partner leaves his wallet on the dash of his unlocked truck all week, I think it's stupid but nothing has ever happened to us. I do put our elk heads out of sight when we leave camp for a bit, I truly hope this guy gets his head back.

Antlers with skull still attached. Beetled not whitened.

It's sad that something of such superior genetics is in the hands of someone with such poor genetics.
-

I've only seen this one. Perhaps others have only seen the other one and just maybe someone who sees one or the other will stumble onto some info that will lead to recovery.

That would be a pretty rough trick to play on a buddy, I certainly hope it turns out to be something of the sort, but I doubt it. I will keep an eye out I work in the area.

I'm not a member of any of those FB groups but I'm sure that's enough to bring it home without my sharing.
-
I at least hope it was not in an open bed of the truck, that there was a cap on the bed. If he left it in an open bed, well, I don't know what to say about that.
-
How is he already hunting? Guessing a Indian and hopefully he cannot shoot another one.
His bull from last year was showing it to some friends and it was in his truck bed. Stopped by a place and it got stolen
-
:yike: I hope it turns back up.
-
The two topics have been merged since this is now a sticky'd thread this one will stay at the top.
I really hope this bull turns up, I remember reading all about it when it was first taken :'( thieves suck indeed!!

You could like the forum's Facebook page and share it from there if you want. I've seen it shared a whole bunch today.
-
Bumping up for the Monday crowd. Hopefully this rack gets returned, someone has to have heard something.
-
I have heard of alot of theft in enumclaw the last few weeks. Someone was scouting my uncle's barn and shop and the cops told him they know who the guys are they are just trying to catch up with them. Hopefully they get them and they have the rack.
Sucks to hear anything is ever stolen let alone something so irreplaceable.
-
any security cameras in the area? if put in a truck bed they'd be easily seen.

Dang, they cutting into your salary??? Must be trying to open up space or trade you??? :bdid: :chuckle:
-
Now a reward for the return of his antlers... come on someone has got to have some info on a lead. Any PM's to me will go strait to the owner
-
I can't seem to find the Facebook posts on huntwa's page either. Not sure what's up there. There were a couple there a few days ago.
-
I hope the cocktails at the Yella Beak were worth it, Big Mistake. Hopefully know one is making knife handles
or worse yet cannabis utensils!! Good luck finding them. :bash:
-
Wow, sorry for the loss, that must really hurt, hope they come back soon.
-
Bump for more views. This is so much worse than having a trail cam messed with. Man I hope someone starts talking soon and word gets out about who took them or better yet they just get returned. Who cares who took them, I am sure you would just love to have them back. What an awesome bull.
-

Didn't think about that. :o
-
Shared. I hope he finds it.
-
Good Lord! That's the place that used to be called True Grit. It is surrounded by the Muckleshoot Reservation.
If it is anything like it was twenty years ago he's lucky they didn't take the tires and wheels off his truck while they were at it. We never would stop and have a beer there after shooting trap Tuesday evenings @ Black Diamond because everybody we knew of who left a shotgun in their car while it was parked in that lot had it stolen.
-
Pretty sure this guy knows it was a bad idea now. Talk about how bad of an idea parking there was and that his antlers might be getting used as knife handles or whatever is probably just salt in the wound and not beneficial to finding the antlers. If it were me I wouldn't want to hear about what I should have done different or what could be happening to my antlers, I would probably have already thought of that stuff a million times over in my head and would only want my antlers back.
Just sayin'
-
I'm so glad I don't live in a place that you can't leave a set of horns in the truck and have a beer.

Ha haaaa!! I have to agree. That's why I moved out to Cowiche. Hope they catch the *censored* smear thief.
-
I would be putting up a big reward if I was this dude, get the tweakers to rat eachother out! And quick too b4 it becomes knife handles..
-
Always check those who are too willing to help.
The husband pleading for his wife's safe return.
The arsonist returning to the scene.
Etc.
Leave no stone unturned.
-
Driving around with your prize bull almost a year later!! Guy must be full of himself!! Think I would have already had it on my wall not in my truck while I was drinking!!
-
It's funny to me how many people are bashing the victim in this. Granted he put himself in a position to be a victim, but at the end of the day he didn't break into someone's truck and steal their property like the suspect did. I'm sure the guy is a good guy most of us would probably like if you met him but many seem content to kick him over a mistake he no doubt realizes. YMMV

Like I said earlier in the thread, I am sure he realizes he screwed up. Now he is just looking for help to get his trophy back. He doesn't need to hear what he did wrong, he doesn't need to hear what could be happening to his trophy. I am sure he is playing all of the scenarios over and over in his head of I should of done this or that.

Was he attending the Fallen Outdoor's Annual Banquet? The same date. A hunting banquet where he might have had an invitation extended to him to bring his trophy class horn is a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why he was driving with them... Let's not keep victim blaming, keeping our eyes out and blaming the scum that stole em should be the focus since we don't know the full details of the story.

The guy is a fellow hunter who took a trophy and had it stolen.
How about a little solidarity and support for the guy and leave the snide remarks for the dirt bag thief.
I would be totally heart sick if someone stole one of my trophies.

He definitely wasn't at TFO with those antlers.

I would be on the police about getting credit card info around the time of the theft. Someone comes out of the bar loaded and thinks hmmm those horns are *censored* let's take em. Just a thought. I would not stop until found! And come on people lets quit bashing this guy. I'm sure at one point in time we all have had something stolen and afterwords you think to yourself, that was stupid for leaving something we're it could be taken. I'm sure he is beating himself up enough! Best of luck getting them back!

nothing yet. He is still hoping for some kind of lead. Someone eventually will show them off or start talking about it. Thank you all for keeping an eye out for it.

Been a while, anything??

Nothing that I've heard. Who ever took them seems to be laying low. That set is pretty unique and if they are still whole they will turn up somewhere.
Please continue to keep your eyes open.
-
Thank you all for your help looking for this bull. I'm sure that he is grateful for everyone's help!
I'm not sure how he got it back but I'm greatfull for all of your support in this unfortunate incident.

can't believe it....congrats!
-
cool must of heard all the commotion and didn't want to get caught. Did they just show up out of the blue, or did the guy actually hand them over?

This is a great yet hard to believe ending.

Unbelievable, very nice to see him get that trophy back! I hope someone got caught at least!

This should be an interesting story.

Awesome! Did not anticipate this ending. But so cool he got this incredible trophy back!
-
Very cool, I had kind of figured it was a goner. Glad it's back home
-
That's great! Now put it on the wall.
-
Great news, that bull is so unique that I figured he would show up at some point
-
Now buy a big ass safe and put that thing on lockdown!!!!

Just about, I'll talk to him tonight to see if he wants people to know what happened. I will say tho iv never seen someone so speachless in there life before when he saw them again... we stood around staring at them for a good 4 hours last night.
-
Congrats.
-
Every time I was driving anywhere near the Yella Beak I kept looking in the ditches and fields off the road thinking maybe they got ditched there.
Or perhaps whomever returned them only "found' them there, either way a happy ending to the story.
-
I'm dying to know what exactly happened well as much as the op.
-
Gotta be just as exciting as the day he killed him.
-
Far Out! That story in itself will add so much to his original hunting story and be an amazing one for the books, and the grand kids!! What a great day!!!
-
Does someone want to sell that dog?
:yeah:
-
Wow!! That's incredible, the pressure must have got to the thief and they tossed it somewhere it'd be discovered. What an amazing ending, rare nowadays.
-
outstanding

Greta news!
-
Awesome update. Extremely shocked. Extremely happy for the owner! Got to be an interesting story to this!
-
-
Unbelievable.. I would like to know how?
-
Great news!
-
Glad they knew who to get them back to. Had to be awesome to put hands on them again!
-
I am hoping we hear details on the find. :hello:
-
I personally know the gentleman who found the stolen rack. He's as honest as they come. He spotted the rack in some blackberry bushes near the Enumclaw fairgrounds about three weeks ago while on his usual dog walking route. He didn't think about taking the rack at the time because he assumed it was something that had been poached and someone had stashed it. After seeing it sitting in the same spot for three weeks he decided to take it home. His son took pictures of the rack and sent them to a few friends in the area who immediately recognized it as the one that had been stolen. Contact was made with the rack owners brother who then came to retrieve it. The finder deserves a ton of credit for what he did and as far as I know he hasn't received a call from the owner of the rack nor has he received a reward that was offered. Hopefully he gets some token of appreciation especially considering that he could have sold that rack for a pretty penny to someone outside the area.

The finder deserves a ton of credit for what he did and as far as I know he hasn't received a call from the owner of the rack nor has he received a reward that was offered. Hopefully he gets some token of appreciation especially considering that he could have sold that rack for a pretty penny to someone outside the area.
That is amazing, same spot for three weeks. Not doubting the story at all just saying that is crazy. Good on your friend for doing the right thing. I hope he gets an atta boy from the owner.
Tell him I think he is a solid dude all day long.

Hmmmm.
Not sure this passes the smell test.
I have never walked past a horn on the ground that I would not pick up, given it was legal. If I was concerned and saw a rack like that in blackberry bushes I am picking it up and calling fish and game. If nobody claims it, I hope they give it to me.
That's just me though.
Why sell it outside of the area if he didn't know it was stolen?

Hard to say what really happened. I will say the way that "story" was told, it sure brings up more than a few questions. Almost seems as though someone let the cat out of the bag by showing pictures off, and then some story fabrication had to take place.

That's great that he found it and returned it. He should be happy knowing that his good deed lets this guy rest easy knowing he has his trophy back. A reward would be icing on the cake, but the good has already been done.

Honest as they come, but broke the law by taking home the skull with antlers attached ( which he also suspected was poached and hid there). Hmmmm.
I would think he would've just called fish and game.
-
This is why I was hoping this one would just die. Now that there is more to the story the guy is getting questioned. What the heck? How he got them back really isn't important, the fact that he got them back is what counts.
Given a choice I am sure he would rather have them back with a stranger than fiction story than not have them back and know for a fact that someone made knife handles out of them.
-
I think everyone is glad he got them back.

There is no questions or any concerns he tried calling fish and game numerous times he said. There was no story fabrication or anything of that sort. The person who found it is a good honest person who iv known along time and know his kids really well. Maybe you should believe what was posted and just go with what was said which is the truth. As far as questions what's your questions we can probably all get together so you can ask the finder and ask the real owner of the horns... I'm sure that can be arranged if you would like. Other then that I THINK THIS THREAD IS OVER AND CAN BE DELETED...

I just think it's a little suspicious. That's all. Your internet tough guy bs isn't going to work with me. Yelling at the end isn't going to make this go away any faster either. Lol

Antlers found, story told, end of the story.
