What is your experience with this?  I am thinking of getting news pants and a jacket.

Thanks

It's great stuff.  It lasts forever.  I have some stuff I've had for over 10 years and it's still holding up fine.

I felt the fit wasn't right more me being 6'1.  The inseam in the pants wasn't long enough for my preference.  Good quality stuff though.

Think of it this way! Add up the cost of all your other hunting clothes you have bought over the years, and most of it just got you by to go hunting. That cost is amazing 39 here, 70 here, 129 here and there.

Buy Sitka and never look back!!  I did 3 years ago and its the only hunting clothes I own now.  Most people cant afford it or choose to put money on binos, scopes or whatever.  I want to be comfortable first and foremost.

Strange I'm 6'4" and all my pants fit great.

Top notch stuff!  I have both the mountain and timberline pants, baselayers, and a mid layer.  All are very good.  While browsing, make sure you check out the new guys on the block for upper crust clothing, Pnuma Outdoors.  I'll be trying some of their stuff out also at some point.

I'm 6'1 and about 220 (out of shape!) and I'm a big fan of the fit in their pants. They are snug in the inseam and slim in the leg but I prefer that to the cheaper "one size fits most" stuff.

mountain pant
ascent Pant
jetstream lite vest
Jetstream lite jacket
heavy core hoody

The hoody is one of the greatest pieces of clothing I own. I wore it turkey season into early summer and will wear it for most of the fall with the right layers above/under. So comfortable and the hood is nicely designed to eliminate a face mask if you want. Ascent pants are good through october with layers then switching to the timberline depending on weather and terrain.

I could probably go without the vest but layered right I can hunt all year with this stuff and some other layers I have so I'm happy with the purchases made. I recommend deal shopping though! camofire, sierra trading post, mountain archery are your friends!

Maybe they added a tall version?  I had the 90% pants 6 years ago and they felt like the inseam was a 30.  They didn't even reach my ankles.  I normally wear a 32- 34 inseam depending on the brand.

I'm pretty sure I have a 38 Tall in the pants. Inseam for me is usually 30-32 so with boots on its a pretty good fit

I like all my Sitka. Seems like the stuff just doesn't wear out. Warranty is top notch also

The warranty is amazing. I had a pair of gloves that had a seam fall apart. I sent them back asking only for a repair which is all I wanted. They sent me a whole new pair!

I am innthe same boat. To figure out if I want sitka or kuiu. I've got a sitka duck hunting jacket it and really like it, other than the fact it's to big for me now. I looked at sitka the other day at sportco and really like it, I think the new camo pattern they came out with is really slick. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with sitka, I have a hard time getting something I can't lay hand on before purchase and kuiu is only from the main office...

Same.
I did buy tall sizes, but that's that.
My stuff all fits me great and is durable. I did look at the new Shooter gloves the other day and the XL's wouldn't fit on my hands. Not sure if there's such a thing as XXL.

Sitka is worth it, only a few items that I wouldn't buy from them. Rain gear is at the top of that list. Dew point because it rips if you give it a mean look. The rest because it is overpriced. The Sitka Ascent jacket is one of my favorite pieces of hunting clothing ever. Sitka flows through the bargain cave too so that's a bonus.

That said, Kryptek, First Lite, and even (gulp) KUIU have great stuff too. If you're not all consumed with matching colors then shop around and piece it together.

I like KUIU a little better but the inventory issues really turned me off. I have a lot of both lines and really love it. I swore I'd never buy that "space age crap" but I'm a believer now. The Ascent pants are so freaking comfy I can't believe it. LOL.

I used to wear out a pair of cotton pants every season and god forbid you get cotton wet! So like someone else said if you add up the cost of the $50.00 cotton pants that you shred year after year and the other gear that you simply wear out this new high end stuff begins to really make sense because it lasts forever.

I have been able to pick up most of my sitka gear on sale from places like MidWayUSA, Kenetrek boot company and Diggs Outdoors.  Post hunting season has been the best time to find good deals.  PM me if you want recommendations and opinions on specific pieces.

I've recently bought a few pieces of Sitka gear lightly used on the forums and so far I think the stuff is pretty awesome.. I'm 6'3 about 205lbs and fits me just fine so far..
I don't think I'd pay new prices for the stuff, but shop around the hunting forums and you'll find some pretty good deals!
