For anyone that may have a Idaho tag, I'm in Boise and there is a rather large fire that's been burning 3 days now NE of here, huge mushroom cloud that is now stretched as far as you can see heading East. I've not taken a drive up into the hills but it appears to be West of 45, likely 38 or 39.

Pretty sure that is the Pioneer fire [URL]http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident//[URL]

Smoke appears to be done, looking like they got it under control.

I'm east the mountains; smoke rolled in pretty hard last night. Tonight was clear and good glassing.

Thanks for the heads up Phool. We will be rolling through there in September to chase the elusive elks!

Huntingcouple which zone do you have?

It'll be under control by November. Looks like the big one this year, should hit 100k acres in the next few days.
Really good cloud from the fire near Hamilton, MT yesterday too so that baby might be growing significantly.

It's a good ways west of 45, it is in units 33 and 39. They have said it will likely burn until November and even at 70000+ acres it is still a very small portion of huntable ground up in those units
