Do they hold your bow?
What do you wish the backpack had?
I only wanna buy one because the price haha I wouldn't mind one that has the frame for comfort reasons and use on long trips and other hikes. But I'm thinking I want my bow to be able to attach to my bag and I'm not finding that an easy option so I'm wondering what people have and how it works

I should add that I've got friends who have Wilderness Pack Specialties Compact Frame Combo and they love them. I've tried them on at Sportsman Show with 100lbs loaded the pack feels light. It's wild. It's a $365 pack though, which is why I haven't bought one myself.
Which ones have you been looking at?

I'd second the Badlands 2200, the newest one, for a day pack or even weekend pack. Bow_mon and I will hit up Cabelas and try as many on as we can and try to get some weight on them. He can write a review afterwards for you ;)What? You can write the reviews JkThomps. Plus you're more mansom than I and I'm sure those packs will look better on you.

They aren't camo but they have an awesome warranty, (that I have not uses). Ive packed a whole boned out blacktail, with my gear and bow for a few miles and then some with their packs. They work great. Check em out. I have there day packs up to their big 70 liter packs. My favorite is the atmos 50. It's just an awesome and light pack. It's big enough for a nite or two but will easily work for a day pack too!!!

Holds your bow just great. Stay away from Eberlestock unless you are sub 5'-10", and even then I wouldn't get one. This is just my opinion, but I do have a lot of years carrying a pack in the elk woods during archery season. :twocents:

I use the Team Elk from Eberlestock anc love it. It will carry a bow, rifle, gear, and has a frame to pack with. All in all, it is a great pack. I have no complaints. :tup::yeah: I have the same pack and have no complaints either.

Another option would be the Blue widow from Eberle. Although it has been mentioned there load lift is nill. They carry a bow good though with a bucket or just strapped on and covered with the bottom flap. Mine held up extremely well. But is bigger and heavier than the 2200 and no access from the back of the pack.

I live right here in Marysville, and a stay at home dad so my newborn boy has been there alot haha ive been looking at the Cabela's frame packs since I can try it in when I buy it...... Good to hear. Just to clarify it can be an internal frame like the 2200. Doesn't need to be a massive frame. Cabela's should have a 2200 to look at too.

Overall pretty disappointed with their pack selection.
The only pack on my list to check out was the Tenzing 3000. Nice pack, but at that price point of $300 it's just felt lacking. I also wasn't really sure how good a meat hauler it would be as you would need to stow your meat in the full main compartment and I would have concerns about blood getting all over the inside of the pack and staining or having scent control issues later on.
They were out of stock on the Badlands 2200, and did not carry in stock the Alps Outdoorz brand as it's an online only and I won't by a pack unless I can try it on and load it with some weight.
Did try on the Cabelas Instinct 40L & 63L. Both seem to have a great fabric that would be quiet in the field, the 40L did not IMHO have great straps to pull the load from your shoulders to your hips. When loaded with both 40 & 60lbs it still felt like it was pulling Me back. The 63L on the other hand was better for load balance. Both of these packs came with a game haul bag that you would put your game bag in and then load into the main compartment. Looks as though this would potentially solve the issue I mentioned above in the Tenzing 3000.
I wasn't really over the top impressed enough to drop that kind of cash just yet. Going to look around a bit more and also see if Lacy Cabelas may have more in stock to warrant the 2hr drive south.

Couldnt agree more. I'm 6'3" and used an Eberlestock a few years ago and it was miserable, just didnt fit well with my body frame. Im currently using a Kuiu Icon Pro 5200 with a Tall frame and its been a world of difference.I use the Team Elk from Eberlestock anc love it. Day hunts for bear and deer but when I'm good enough I wanna high country hunt a mulie..... And don't want 2 300$ packs
I was thinking an external frame with a shelf so I can adjust the pack I attach according to the trip. I'm only 5'7" 175 lbs. So size isn't a issue for the frame

With that fold out "meat shelf" on top of everything else it would easily hold more than 2200ci. I also love the water bladder being up and off your back so your not drinking warm water by mid day as well. Price and warranty, I couldn't be happier. Now to get some blood on it we shall see how it holds up. Good luck all

Kifaru frame, cargo panel and pockets.
In day hunt mode the late side pocket is mounted to the frame and holds harness, rope, insulating layer and rain jacket. Also can add a bladder if needed, but for now, water on the right hip and gps and phone on the left.
The two large pockets on the outside of the panel hold game bags, lights, knives, gloves, snacks, etc.
The small side pocket on the bottom is dedicated first aid.
Get an animal down, load it up and head out.
Over night trips a camp bag is used and still plenty of space to load up camp and a quarter or two.
I also have two extra straps that run side to side of the cargo panel over the large pockets. These straps hold my bow when the pack is loaded with meat. The straps rest under the pockets when not is use.
Also, can unbuckle the top two panel buckles and get to the large pocket inside to access layers without having to undo everything.

Does anyone have a Mystery Ranch pack? Id love to hear your thoughts on them! ThanksI've got a mystery ranch nice 6500. It has been a bomb proof pack! Big main bag but still compresses well for day hunting. I've given it lots of abuse and it still hasn't had any issues. :twocents: my badlands broke a couple times with 55-80 lb on it. It isn't fun when hauling a load and a shoulder strap comes completely off.
