How long will bears respond to fawn in distress calls? Called one in on the 1st, wondering if calling will be effective through the whole season?

I call until they den up. Later in the season I don't think they travel as far or as fast to a call, but if you start calling and they are close by they will come in.

Had one come into my lost calf calls (at least that's what I was attempting) at 15 yards several years ago during early archery. One of my buddies took a cougar this year doing the same. I'm told they were both a little suprised when they faced off @ 12 yards :yike:
This was Rimrock area btw.
