Most species of birds in N. America have been parts of banding studies. My friends shot 4 banded doves opening day. I have shot two in the past. Definitely a nice find!

Yes ive seen banded robins and cedar waxwings before but never a dove yet harvest one. I imagine later in the season when more migrate in chances may be better. My cousin shot seven bands in a ten bird limit a few years ago, just depends if you get into a flock just like ducks and geese. Shot quite a few hundred doves and never really checked but when the dog brought it back tonight it caught my eye, a nice little surprise.

Hey all - I have attempted to submit/attach photos in post replys several times and have not been successful. Is there a secret hand shake or something? ;)
