Title: You only turn 40 once, my time is coming
Post by: h20hunter on September 14, 2016, 09:35:19 AM: So, friends, family, and probably a few random strangers are getting together on Nov 19th, roughly from 6 to 8 at Skookum Brewing in Smokey Point. Ive never really been one for parties and hoopla when it comes to my own birtdays but ive decided to go for it a bit this time around. So, if you need an excuse to go get a beer, maybe talk hunting, share some stories and have a beer then bring your dog and come on out.

I'll be able to share a story about how a guy fresh out of knee surgery with a walking stick was able to get on a pretty decent bull. Luckily he has hunt camp partners that we're there to quarter and pack the bull out...

Definitely not true. For myself I took up bike racing at 40. Pushed myself past goal after goal for 10 years. 17 years later, new goals and nothing going downhill yet as I get closer to 60.

Oh that? You are right, grey hair coming and dog gone it if I didn't need reading glasses two months after turning 40. After my lasic surgery I thought no more glasses. Doctor crushed my dreams when he said I would need readers right around forty. I thought no way but he was right.

You also bruise way easier and it takes a lot longer to recover from a fall or tweaking your back.

There's a couple of other things but they have slipped my mind as well.

I made 50 in July. I would also support a get together for that. 50 hasn't been gentle to me so it deserves to be recognized. LOL...

Trump is in, kids are growing up, and darn if that hairline is getting thinner. Oh well, bring on the Skookum soon, ill be doing some prefunking with the G2 in preparation and giving the liver a pep talk on the way.

I was off by 1 weekend for H20's party. I'm glad we could get together and make up for it.
