My son and pup got their first pheasant today. Way too hot for upland but fun none the less. I had the whole family out today it was a great day.

Very nice! The youth season is the best thing WDFW does. This was my last one, kid will be too old. I remember his first bird like it was yesterday, there is nothing better

Awesome! That's cool to see the younger crowd getting into the sport!! Good job to the pup too! I'm hoping to get my pup her first birds this year as well!

Awesome! Good for you teaching and sharing what you love to do. And from the smiles on your kids faces....you just made an incredible memory. :IBCOOL:

Yeah I'm pretty lucky my kid's are all in so far. Yesterday I got an email from my 13 year old who killed that bird, asking me to read a rough draft of a story he wrote about this hunt. I thought it was for school and it was pretty rough for him. When I got home and talked to him about it he told me he just wanted to write it down so he would never forget it. This boy has been duck, deer and elk hunting. He killed a cow last year and has limited out on green heads in Montana over roboduck. But nothing compared to killing a bird over this pup. He's hooked!
