I talked to a guy that has a special draw partner Deer tag. he has been in the area several times scouting. He shows me a trail cam pic of a pretty nice buck and says were going after this one. I asked, so you got your trail cams up? the answer was not yet. His partner had found a cam and has a card reader on his phone. So he read the card (left the pic's of all the animals), however did remove the pic's of them selves off there.
Whats your thought on that and have you even thought of the possibilities of this happening, and now are you wondering if your big buck / bull is being taking off your cam? Or would you have done this if you were in their shoes?

I leave them alone when I see them but on public land of someone looks at the pics on mine and leaves them all there I am ok with that. I'd rather have them look and put back and leave the cam alone than steal or break the cam. :twocents:

No. I would not touch someone elses property. This is not ok. Pretty simple, if its not yours why even touch it?

It's not yours, don't touch it. I would be pissed if I knew someone messed with one of my cameras. Even if they are just looking at the photos and then deleting the ones of themselves.
I had a guest come to my place to hunt, pulled the chips out of my cameras to see what had been on my place the previous week and didn't put them back in when he left. I get there the next week to hunt and have no intel because he pulled the chips and didn't put them back. That pissed me off and it was someone I knew. If I didn't know them I would really be pissed.

I can't even believe this is an actual question.

I know, right? I think the OP knew it was wrong and just wanted to make sure he was correct. I would distance my hunting activities from the friend of a friend for sure.

I just moon the cameras I see. And I know what my butt looks like so I don't bother looking at the cards.

For the record, I didn't mean to sound like a jerk saying that. I just have a hard time believing this is where we're at with hunting and scouting and such.
Unreal.

I would never mess with a camera, I just posted this to get you thinking, is someone already looking at my pics. are my big bulls / bucks on here or deleted before i got to see them you know food for thought.
-
I had never thought of it. I assumed they would take the camera, take the card, delete all of the photos. It never entered my mind that someone would look at all the photos and delete the good ones. I know that is worse than deleting them all and just a step better than taking the camera.
Pretty sad state of affairs to hear what some will do to get an advantage and sabotage another hunter.

Unless they have power tools or a cutting torch, they're not looking at my pictures. It's sad that it has come to that, but it has. I worry more about dirtbags messing with my cameras than bears.

Yeah, one guy I know said he put clips from an XXX movie as the start on his card. He figures someone will take his card and read it when they get home. His hopes were they'd view it in front of a bunch of people. "Yeah, you go hunting every weekend."

Hopefully it's gay porn. :yike:

I am deeply troubled by this. I believe 90 percent of us are good to the core and smile and wave at a camera then move on wishing the camera owner good luck and safe hunting. Messing with a game camera is like going into someone's camp. Leave it alone. Be on the right side of life!
