I have gotten some private property access along the Palouse river near Hooper. I am planning on deer hunting it and scouting it for birds. Does anyone have any experience with that area? I think there is some waterfowl a little later in the year too. If its any good, I may also be looking for someone who may be interested in pitching in on a lease. Thanks for any info :hello:

Its a very good area if there is cover for them, meaning just not wheat stubble

A Pheasant Release Area is close to Hopper with wild pheasants and CA quail present in the brushy draws.

If you need a lease partner I would love to talk to you.

I am excited to see what the area holds once I can cover some ground. I will know more in a couple weeks. I appreciate the interests with the lease.

Let me know what you find, I'm looking for a good weekend spot a couple times a year to take the youngsters for duck or geese.

great for waterfowl, downside is they are eating the grain out of the manure piles.
I have hunted that exact area many times and its full of all kinds of birds. there are pheasant all up and down the creek but theyre spread out so you gotta walk. some quail around there as well.

Does that affect the taste of the goose?

to be specific, only the ducks had manure in their crops, the geese had plant roots in their crops when we were hunting there. not sure if it ruined the taste but it sure ruined our appetites.
