Does anyone know of any persons having any Mountain View elk tags? Cow or bull?
-
Why do you ask?
I have a 1040 spike permit...Hunted Mt View off and on since the 70's
-
I know someone with a big bull tag and they were just wondering how many people with that tag were actually going to go hunt it. We only know of 4 right now but there are 16 tags out there somewhere....
-
. The easy way is to sit the top and glass the draws until you spot one, then head down while a buddy keeps an eye on the bull and directs you in. You can sit the edge of the 40 or work your way part way down one of the major ridges to get a different angle into the thicker stuff.
If you are lucky downing one hopefully you are near one of the trails otherwise it's a ton of work coming up out of there without pack animals.
During muzzy season I sat east of the guard station one evening and glassed two fine 6x6 bulls in opposite draws, but for me it was spike only.

Heck of a bull. Congrats to him

As did this bad boy, I'd like someone to show me a better 5 point.......
-
He was a unit jumper. Several sheds have been picked up from this guy over the years. Another awesome bull

Those are really nice bulls. I saw that the guys camped at the Wenatchee Guard station had a big bull as well. Not sure if they got it in Mt. View or Lick Creek though.

That last bull sheds on private. Who do you know that has sheds off it?
-
Great bulls!!! love those funky whale tales on that first bull, pretty unique.

I know of a couple guys with sheds off him. One for sure has access to several private pieces and the other found the bull no where near his normal winter range, and it made sense as he never showed up there that year.

Have seen a couple of huge 5s like that. CoryTDF chased one with his archery tag a few years ago, and there is one that looks about like the one in the picture hanging in Ranch and Home in Milton Freewater. Probably all from the same gene-pool.

Figyured since guys are askimg whose picking up sheds i might as well ask where :chuckle:

The guard station bulls
Where killed in mt view. They had two tags and filled both
-
We saw another bull almost identical to that big 5 two days before the season on public ground up there 3 miles from where he was killed. Someone would play hell convincing me that this guy doesn't have a few off spring out there running around. I think the one that was killed was the old boy!
