I've never seen so many trucks/campers/ trailers/four wheelers flying by on Hwy 25. And this is only Wednesday!! Be safe..

North Central state is a wasteland, pressure has to go somewhere, somewhere with lots of public land.

Doesn't surprise me with any whitetail buck in those units. Probably a bunch of road hunters.

Not gonna be very fun with that weather forecast. Tow truck operators likely to have a busy weekend. Whitetail numbers around my place seem to be down quite a bit this year, lots of dry does. Mulies, on the other hand, seem to be doing well-lots of does with twins. Hope all those guys that went in Wednesday kept this wet weather in mind before they went way back in on roads that are going to be in very bad shape come sunday.

Probably because they know they have a chance since you've retired! Hope you and Wendy are doing well, Rick!

Not quite yet. After getting through two heart surgeries and a shoulder surgery I just had to do one more season. I booked just 4 hunters for the entire early modern-- no muzzy--no archery.
The entire late whitetail season I only booked 11 hunters.. So I guess I'm semi-retired for this year!! Hope all is well with you!!

We've been doing some pre-season scouting in our usual spots and are surprised at the low whitetail numbers this year. I haven't read anything about blue tongue being bad this year and the winter wasn't too harsh. Not sure what the cause is. I will still hit the woods in a few days and give it a go.

My dad has been over in the Chewelah area since Tuesday, be there for the season. Then home for a day then to Elk camp.
