if i were buying a pump gun, i think i'd buy a rem. 870, i really like the tactical turkey models, just haven't shot one with the axiom stock and not sure i'd like it.

Model 935 auto can run $550-750
Model 500 several variations have choke models $300 -450
You can find deals if you look around..I like the 835/ 935 they contain 10 gauge barrels overbored to 12 gauge..tough and durable.
Hooked on Toys or High Mountain may have them..

Yelp, is the pistol grip as awesome as Ive always dreamed it would be? When sitting for hours on end on various trees Ive often dreamed about a pistol grip stock. It seems so stable when sitting on your ass balancing the gun on your knee.

I have the Benelli SBE II. After carrying a mossberg pump and a nova, I had to switch away from the rattley pump. It drove me nuts. My experience with Remington Semi-Auto's is not good...they won't kick out low base, which isn't a problem if you are using it only for turkeys, but to spend that kind of money and put two or three hunting shots through it a year??? If you have the money, I'd go for the SBE II. Super lightweight, doesn't kick like a mule, kicks out low base...perfect.
Make sure its not the first SBE it didnt kick out low base either!

FishHunt is right those forearms on the pump guns mossberg and nova are noisy...and when that gobbler is coming in and your shaking like a leaf that tickticktick is hard to keep quiet....LOL...Those damn birds are getting me all jiggy! :chuckle:

I shoot a Winchester Model 1300 Turkey with the laminated stock, 21 inch barrel, NWTF model they first came out with years ago. Put a Kick's turkey choke on it several years back (mid 90's) and it is a death machine. Might pick up one of those Remington's though at that price for an extra turkey gun . Can't have enough guns you know..... :chuckle:

20 guage is viable. In general you're gonna limit your range to about 35 yards but that'll cover 85% or > of your shots.

I also bought a Nova 20 gauge last year for a youth gun and backup and it is a delight to shoot 3 in. turkey loads.
