Title: THIEF almost caught
Post by: JKEEN33 on October 23, 2016, 09:50:07 AM
Just had a thief pull up in front of the house in Enumclaw and steal a trailer hitch and sway bar. Saw him doing it and ran out to confront him. He sped off before I could tear his head off. I did get the license number of the SUV he was driving. ACP7381 out of Kent. Was a tannish SUV. According to the plate lookup I found, it is registered to a 50'ish woman with a Russian sounding name out of Kent. I'm assuming this is her son. The police have been called and I got the "well we will see what we can do, but probably not much"???? I'm giving them a few hours before I take  a short trip to Kent myself.

I do too, and that's why I'm giving them a chance. I was 10 feet from the kid and can identify, I have the license plate and color of the vehicle. If they can't do something with that they are useless.

In most cases the person will admit what they did regardless.  The police can take this info and press the owner.....the truth will come out.  Criminals are really not smart.   Reality is law enforcement will do nothing because they have more pressing issues.  This is a direct product of most areas being under staffed with law enforcement.....and jails being stuffed to the max.  Even if they do catch him he won't spend any time in the slammer....thus reinforcing his behavior.  The system is just messed up.

Wow..."love to put a bullet" in someone.  What is it that makes you and your mind set better than the thief?
oh boy, someone has a soft spot for thieves!  Just a slight difference between my mind set and a thief.  One, I care about other people's stuff, I don't think it should be mine just because I can take it. Two, most thieves are stealing to support drug habits, I try to be a positive citizen rather than a maggot.  And anyone stepping foot onto someone's property to steal from them, knows they could get shot! I'm just hoping I can help them stop stealing, for good! Liberals always make me wonder what the hell makes them tic, and if your not liberal, I'm shocked.

I'm not threatening to shoot anyone. I want them to know I know who they are and they are being watched. For the police to say well this is Enumclaw, and they are from Kent is ridiculous. This is not just a trailer hitch. This is two kicker motors and a main, an attempted car stereo, a neighbors garage being pilfered, the neighborhood RV lot being broken into and 12 RV's being ransacked. Our house alone has incurred around 30K in theft and damage. This is a good neighborhood and the trash is coming from outside. I'm not getting my stuff back, that is a given. I am not going to roll over and say oh well come hit me again because I'm scared.

The purpose of this thread is "I did get the license number of the SUV he was driving. ACP7381 out of Kent." If it's in your neighborhood, something is probably going to come up missing.

This mindset is a direct result of noting being done to criminals who do property crime. You will continue to see vigilante  style conversation and some action due to no responce from the system.

I personally think a hickory shampooing  is a little more measured responce than shooting some one... it's unfortunate that an old fashioned tune up would get the property owner in more trouble than the thief.

Arm chair Rambos all beating your chest telling everyone how you can't wait to kill somebody.  I think you don't know what you are speaking about in the first place.  If you'd like I'll introduce you to some fellow soldiers and combat veterans and other such wuss types so you can explain how cool it would be to kill somebody over a friggin 20 dollar trailer hitch.

Not sure where you get your ideas of conservative and liberal but I''d be more than happy to point you towards a couple of sources where you can learn what being conservative politically actually means.
There is a great book that you may be aware of. "On Killing" that is a historical psychological examination on killing both in warfare and a police context.

I think part of the reason in the verbal jump is because  the old fashioned beat down for doing something wrong is almost as bad... that and most people aren't willing to get thier knuckles bloodied to administer a little street justice.

That said, maybe one day one of you Chuck Norris wannabes might have to use lethal force and then you won't see yourself as so smart as the prosecution starts showing screenshot after screenshot of your posts.

"putting a bullet" in someone for petty theft is ridiculous.  You would be well served to read up on Tennessee v. Garner so you understand what the Supreme Court has decided what is appropriate for use of lethal force when it involves a crime.

Thieves belong in 6ft deep holes.
I have very strong feeling on thieves as well... mostly it stems from the fact that there is no current effective way to punish most property crime offenders. No money to jail let alone prosecute them unless it's part of a bigger offense.  I would be for instituting something like Singapore  has... you remember the kid who got beat with a 6' Caine for spraying graffiti?  I think something like this would be appropriate for those who can't pay for damages. A simple fix like this would likely do more to deter crime than anything else, but wouldn't pass the warm and fuzzy crowd because they would view it as cruel and unusual punishment.

I'm too old jack azz, tough guy internet talk, you amuse me.  I guarantee if some azz hat comes on my property with intent to steal from me, I'm going to assume he has the mind set to hurt or kill me or my family, reason enough to kill the *censored*.  I was scared for my life!  Some prosecutor can go ahead and take these remarks, I really don't give a crap and your submissive attitude is partly what's wrong with this country.  I'm not saying the thieves deserve to die because he steals a receiver, I'm saying he could easily get himself killed doing stupid crap like that!  And I'm saying I have no problem putting an end to someone threatening me or my family by being on my property illegally.  I have no idea what their plans are, you can try to politely ask them to leave, I'll go a different route thank you.

When deciding to use force to defend your family and or property you should consider if the force you use is reasonable based on the crime occurring. To much force and you are harming the very things you are trying to protect. A wrongful death lawsuit will cost you everything you own and a manslaughter charge could land you in jail. Then who's taking care of your family? I don't like theives, criminals etc but you live in a world that often doesn't see things the way you do.

As flawed as that may seem, it's still light years better than vigilante justice where folks are arbitrarily applying capital punishment that may or may not fit the crime.

Not sure if this was directed at me... corporal punishment  may not cost as much as jail time and may have more of a deterrent. Sherrif Joe Apreio AZ doesn't have to go to that extreme and yet manages to keep thugs in line... would I settle for these clowns to sit in pink jumpsuits in Korean  War errands tents surrounded by Constantine wire? You bet... since we are flapping our gums I'd trade a bunch of thing for giving a guy a few lashes... even after he has had his chance to prove his innocence.

Exactly. I think the system is so wrong. but hey what can you do other than OBEY....frustrating. best to just abide by the law and have insurance and keep things as secured as possible. it is so sad that this is where we are now

Maybe get more involved?

Bitching on Huntwa isn't going to make things better..
I vote, what else can I do? seriously asking...PM me if you want

I'm sure if the government were to adopt your stance on corporal punishment without any due process, you'd be okay with that too?  I'm all for lethal force, when it is applied in accordance with state and federal law.  Based on your statements, you are willing to freely commit a homicide and then perjure yourself.

Actually, it was a typo and should have said capitol punishment, as in executing someone who is stealing something.  It was directed at Trophyhunt.
If a guy comes on to my property, and he gives me any impression that he's there to do us harm, yes, there will be no trial for him. Perjure myself how? You guys must be members of the black lives matter movement? Do you think cops shouldn't kill bad guys with guns? Maybe the guy with the gun wasn't going to shoot the cop? Bad guys need to be put down like bad dogs, I don't care who does it, government or law abiding citizen protecting his lively hood.

Your assumptions are silly.  No one said a word about black lives, that statement just makes you look ridiculous.

Read Tennessee v. Garner and know it well.  Assumptions will put you in prison.  Articulable facts will keep you out.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Here you said you were going to kill someone for stealing firewood.

Let's see, he's not where he belongs, I live in the woods and I don't know what his intentions are.  Maybe he wants to beat my daughter in the head with it, if I just ask him pretty please could he leave, maybe he'll come back when I'm not home because clearly he doesn't care about laws or have respect for other people.  I'm not going to shoot him in the leg so he can sue me, a dead thief won't steal again I promise.

This conversation has run its course, it's just not interesting.  You give your thief a pat on the back and I'll do what I'll do.  I wish you well, no disrespect intended.

Based on your posts and responses you would lose everything and spend quite a bit of time in jail.

Clearly you have been thinking about this for a while.

The problem is you can't prove who it was, so there is not much the police can do.

The problem is in Washington State the owner of the vehicle is not responsible for the vehicle, the owner can simply say "I don't know who was driving it".........end of discussion.

Only in America does a thief have more right than the person he is stealing from, and then you have people openly justifying their actions and the reasons not to "put a bullet " in their skull.. you do know that in some countries if a thief is caught he loses a hand, no questions asked and lord help them if they commit a sexual crime, I am betting if Americans would quit being bleeding heart sissys and GET BEHIND some much stiffer penalties we would see crime rates plummet, especially theft, which not to long ago, steal a cow and you got hung by the neck until dead!! Sometimes I think the people that advocate for theives might just have sticky fingers themselves :dunno:

And in some of those countries they defecate in the street.

Maybe we should try that too?

No one is advocating stealing. I think we all agree criminals are scum. Just trying to give some friendly advise on how to stay out of prison. But if you feel the need to kill because of petty theft, by all means carry on...to each there own.

Should have the right to put them in a stock out by the mail box and let each nieghbor come by and have a swing with the ol' cane pole.
Deadly force, that's reserved for deadly threat.
