Pulled out a tooth from my moose last fall and sent it to the game dept for aging.
Came back at 4 years old. Guess I shot a baby :chuckle:
-
Got my 2015 moose age back last month. He was 9 years old. Makes me wonder if he was regressing?
-
Bull in my avatar pic was 11 years old

I don't know but that's a killer bull for sure

Thats an awesome bull. What year?

Wow 11 and I thought mine was old.
With the introduction of wolves, I wonder if the age of bulls harvested will lower?

I have still not received that info from F&G. I wonder if it's because I didn't harvest till Nov 25th last year? I guessed mine to be 3 to 5 and am thinking it will be 4 like Falcons bull. Interesting to see the bull and age pics. I hope more former moose tag guys find this thread and post a pic and age. will post mine when I get my results.
-
Mine was 9. That's the perfect age for a monarch
-
With wolves they will be lucky to be 4 years old.

This is great, I love to know the age of animals, I would have never guessed 9 and 11 years old that's amazing. It took 9 months for me to get my tooth age results for my deer. Mailed teeth off in December,

My 2015 Kettle Range bull was only 6 years old.

Awesome bull. Want a monster👊💥👊

Montanajoe you need to take that to the head and horn competition definitely a prize winner and a top 5 record book bull. 175+ is my rough guess
-
Word of caution as far as wdfw tooth aging. A neighbor if mine killed a real nice mature black bear boar. Easy 350lb animal if not larger, im being conservative. Wdfw said 2 years old. No effing way, not a chance.

Great bull for sure but spread is not all the score.

These are rough guess estimates from picture
55 wide 32 palms 11 wide 9 point per side 7 inch girth
55+32+32+11+11+9+9+7+7= 173 give or take
-
But the palms could easily be 25 or 26 and then he's a great 160s bull. Either was a true stud bull at 6 years old. A 55 wide shiras is just amazing.

Yep palms were hard to judge from the picture.
What a great bull. Joe thanks for sharing

My bull was 8.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuploads.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F20161025%2Fb7f5199a682e2dff7e9439665f7b3076.jpg&hash=479ff64b5b9874a93ace60169fe13180fda39565)

My grandfathers 2013 Selkirk bull was heavy based and slim palms, 12 years old and tough as shoe leather for eating.
-
The two biggest Bulls I have heard of so far were 6 years old. Must be something to that. Maybe 6 or 7 is prime age. Just a guess

5.5 or what most people call 6 is what is considered prime. Like any other deer, the next couple years are solid. I like the extra mass. I see the best racks in about the 8 to 9 year olds, then the palmation starts disappearing and they get some gnarly long points.
-
Mine was 4 years old, and the oldest bull I saw on the 2015 Wyoming moose state wide tooth age list was 10 years old. I'm guessing that they don't live much longer than that.

Just got off the phone with the BIO in Spokane and my cow was 11 1/2 years old. She was collared and ear tagged and they were keeping tabs on her. Pretty cool. She had travelled quite some distance from where she had been collared, probably 20 miles or so.
