im a CWU college student that grew up in skagit county, not being able to kill the amount of ducks i used to is a change. since i dont have a boat or resources anymore i have to start from scratch. would love to get out on a hunt on the river with someone. or maybe potholes? anyone that is hunting and wouldn't care if i join in please feel free to message me!

Drive on down to the Mattawa area. There are some corn fields you can hunt. The Buckshot slough area you should be able to toss a couple of decoys out along the shore in the slough and on the river. There are 2 clubs you can join that have hunting. The Royal Slope club or the Waluke club. Both as I understand it give money to the high schools.
The only area near Vantage is the island. If you can get a boat to get to it you can have decent shoots. Last time I hunted it it was dump from slob hunters.

Don't' forget about the Quincy lakes area. It's hike in but there are birds there. Some spots don't freeze in the winter. Keep looking.

Lots of places that you can wade and walk into around potholes! Scouting is key!
