Anyone have any advice for hunting the Big C near Wenatchee and north? Mainly diver hunting but any advice would be appreciated. Hoping to hit it this season for some Redheads, Canvasbacks and Bluebills. If any of you are interested in a trip like that, holler at me. Have boat, decoys and gear.
PS, hazzards that I'd need to know about would also be appreciated.

I used to hunt just south of Daroga state park along the shore on the east side of the river. Every once in a while a guy with a boat used to set in front of the state park about 100 yards away from hwy 97 on a little sandbar that is there that you can anchor too. (10-15) feet deep, he would throw dozens of decoys out surrounding him and man he would really get some shooting in. Outherwise fond some shoring where there is no houses and set up about 10 feet off the shore and try your luck. Homeowners tend to get frustrated if you set up in front of their house and start blasting lol good luck!

All along the shore across from crescent bar can be good hunting, especially later in the year. Lots of little coves to hunt and a mixed bag is a definite possibility. Also, up north towards Pateros there is a lot of good diver hunting. I don't have a boat so the coupe times I hunted up there I just walked in and did well. Guys in boats seem to do better.

We've hunted a few times on Wanapum across from crescent and sunland off the columbia and had decent days. Mostly mixed bag of divers and mallards/wigeon. Weather dependent - tough to get over there w/ a lot of wind. When it's cold and potholes is frozen, the columbia holds a lot of birds.

Wells Reservoir is good for divers, decent lodging in Pateros.

Wait until it gets really cold or it snows. The wells pool will normally hold a good number of divers but the past few years we haven't had the bitter cold that is usually needed to get them to fly. Shooting redheads and canvasback in blizzard conditions is one of my greatest memories of my waterfowling career thus far.
