Title: Duck Hunting in Mexico
Post by: curtdiesel on November 10, 2016, 10:56:21 AM

I am looking to go Duck Hunting in Mexico.  Mazatlán seems like a great place to start.  The Pacific and Central Flyways meet there and Mazatlán is currently a bit cheaper to stay at than other parts of Mexico.  I am looking at Aviles Brothers Outfitters, linked above.  Has anyone hunted with them before?  It looks like the original owner's son has taken over the business and is trying to get things going again this year.  It would be really great to hear from someone who has gone this year or last.  I would also be interested in any reports on other outfitters in Mexico that someone has used this year or last.

Thank you,

Curt

Thanks 270Shooter.  That website has some really nice hunts listed.  I will likely use them in the future.  The outfit in Mazatlan I am looking at is a bit cheaper right now and I can hunt less days if I want.  I am looking at $350 per hunt day and about $50 per night at the same nice hotel.  Did I mention that Mazatlán is cheap right now.  I am trying to convince Ribka to go with me.  If he doesn't I have room for 2 if anyone is interested.  I am planning to hunt the 23rd, 24th, and or 25th of January.

I've wanted to go down to Obregon on that brant / duck combo hunt on getducks.  I've been waiting for one to come up at a DU auction.  8 brants and 20 ducks a day, chance at a mexican mallard, cinnamon and blue wing teal...

That Obregon Brant/Duck Combo looks really nice.  Your DU Auctions have stuff like that?  Which ones do you go to?  The one in Selah/Yakima, WA is pretty weak right now and has been declining for the last 6 years pretty bad.

I go to the Snoqualmie Valley or Seattle ones.  I got a 2 man, 5 day- all inclusive spring snow goose hunt to saskatchewan for 750 bucks one year... You can find some good deals for cool hunts.  They normally always have an argentinian dove or duck hunt also.
