Yj guide service will again this year be doing a Walleye, Burbot, and Rainbow trout tournament on Lake Roosevelt. We will be doing it out two rivers marina at the pavilion. This tournament will be a little different from other ones. There will be prizes given for the total weight of all fish turned in for each species combined without going over each species specific limit (example 5 trout, 5 burbot and 16 walleye may be turned in per person for total weight). The tournament will be on Saturday Jan 14th 2017 it will start at 7am (drivers meeting at 630am ft Spokane boat launch) and runs till 330pm sharp check in with a chili and cornbread feed following which is included in the entry fee of $20 per person at the 2 rivers pavilion. $5.00 Big fish pot will be for each species so $5.00 for burbot, $5.00 for walleye and $5.00 for trout, you choose which pots you want to put in for. Awards and the food will be at the 2 rivers pavilion. Prizes will be given for 1st through whatever position we have prizes for. So it will work like this first place will get first pic of anyone of the prizes on the table, second place gets second pic and so on. We will require a pre sign up for this tournament so we can purchase the prizes, no entries will be accepted after Jan 11th 2017. We will also have sponsor gifts included in the prizes. If you catch a fish you might get a prize of some sorts . If interested sign up early since we will only have a certain number of boats in the tournament. Each boat can fish as many people as they can legally hold. Each boat must have a tournament banner or some type of banner such as caution tape showing they are participating in the tournament. We will launch out of the ft Spokane boat launch. Everyone will meet at the fish cleaning station at the ft Spokane boat launch to go over the rules at 630 am. If interested call 509-999-0717 craig or mail contact info, number of fisherman and boats and $20 check or money order per person, and big fish pot money with which pot you want entered into to Craig Dowdy 205 Maxwell Davenport Wa 99122

the area by the launch was awful couldn't see past the launch since the ice was still solid there
-
Just checking, are you still going on despite the weather. Supposed to have 4-6 inches of snow Friday/Friday Night night at Seven Bays. We're a cold weather fishing bunch but driving down the hill to Ft Spokane...
-
Yes cant change it again already did with the state and NPS so this is it unfortunately we cant change the weather. We all hope for 60's and sunny lol...Only suppose to be a 40 percent chance and not much accumulation. But snow is snow, we will have de ice and sand if needed at the end of the day..

Tournament will launch out of 7bays boat launch by 630 with a meeting afterwards. Call craig 509-999-0717 if you have questions...

Thoughts and prayers for the brave guys who decided to fish :bdid:
-
:yeah: We decided not to chance it, dang weather anyways. We were really looking forward to it, always next year.
-
We had a great time and had 27 people at the event. We gave away a lot of great prizes and had some good food. Weather was actually really good no snow or rain all day during the event. Thanks again to everyone who made the treck in the morning snow and fished with us...Thanks Craig
-
Wish i could have made it. It was a great time last year. Weather didn't scare me away but work did :(. When is the next tourney?? Anything this Summer?
-
The northwest walleye circuit has 5 tournaments scheduled this spring/summer. Open to 2 man teams. 2 in Umatilla, one each on banks, kettle falls and potholes. They are a blast to fish. always looking for more competition. Fish as many or few as you want. Entry fees are considerably more, But so are the payouts. If anyone is interested, I can post the dates. they are 2 day events
-
How much to enter and what are the dates...
-
umitilla march 25 & 26
Poteholes may 6 &7
Banks May 20 &21
kettle falls june 24 & 25
umitilla aug 5 & 6.
They are all about 250 plus options for 50 for big string and 50 big fish that pay out both days. Its a good idea to do the option pots. chances are if you place, you will be winning some option money and if your having a bad day, your still only one bite away from a pretty good payday.
-
:dunno: How did the brave souls that showed do as far as catching? Not that I am really wishing I would have braved it.
-
I think we had 30 something trout with the biggest being 4lb 10oz one walleye 2lbs 5oz, 3 burbot biggest 2.5lbs. Fishing was hard to say the least with not being able to access the arm...Hopefully going to do two, one next Jan and the again in April of 2018..Actually the roads weren't bad at all they had them all cleaned up by morning and the weather was great no rain or snow and low to mid thirties and calm winds. The day actually was very good for the time of the year...
-
That makes me very unhappy I chickened out, congrats to those that fished
