That's a tough call 1 thing is for sure your gonna have to walk a long way to get to the blind most likely or you will get a spot where you may have to stand in the water I know the one # we got my 11 y/o was up past his waist in water

I wouldn't waste my time there on the opener unless you had a chance to shoot geese.  There are usually a lot of specks down there for the opener.  But there are really no ducks that use it until the first push of northerns arrive or they start chopping the corn.

If you want to head East for the opener, check some of the areas around Paterson.  If you have a boat you can get into some birds.

Otherwise head to the basin and hunt the local population around the potholes.
