Title: montana rifles company model 1999? any help is appreciated.
Post by: syoungs on November 28, 2016, 07:21:58 AM
Looking over the used gun rack at a local store, I spotted a Montana rifle company model 1999 in 6.5x284 that I kind of liked. kind of liked a lot. they want 1000$ for it, has a tasco scope on it right now.

I have never looked at these rifles, or this builder, anyone have anything good bad or ugly to say about em? price seemed ok from looking at other online adds, but maybe it isn't?

They don't seem to have a huge following. I did have one built for a buddy(338RUM) and he loves it! Wayne York(Oregunsmithing) did the build on their action and his custom stock. I do know they used his stocks on many of their own custom rifles. Your not that far from Pendleton where Wayne's business is located, could possibly be one of his builds. I don't think he would put a Tasco on one of his though?

this had a nice green laminate stock on it, probably one of his. its hard to drop 1000$ on a gun without being able to shoot it, I was originally looking at a savage 11 trophy predator in 6.5 creed, I know those guns shoot, and at less the cost and almost 1/2 the weight.
