Ok another moose story but I really like this one. As some of you know I own a draft horse that drives in draft horse shows but this is SOOOO much cooler then any draft horse I think! And to think this guy is out there breeding his awesome genes still!!!!
ALASKAN CLYDESDALE
Only in Alaska....... This guy raised an abandoned moose calf with his
Horses, and believe it or not, he has trained it for lumber removal and
Other hauling tasks. Given the 2,000 pounds of robust muscle, and the
Splayed, grippy hooves, he claims it is the best work animal he has. He
Says the secret to keeping the moose around is a sweet salt lick,
Although During the rut he disappears for a couple of weeks, but always comes
Home.... Impressive!! Bound to be someone out there that will raise some issues with this treatment of a wild animal. To them I say. "If the Moose keeps coming back, what's the problem?"

I hate to break it to ya Muleysgirl, but this is just another example of a Photoshop job that has made it's way around the net numerous times over the years.
Check on the stacks of logs on either side of the moose...the ends are identical. They have been copied and pasted to look like different stacks.
Plus, take a look at the outline of the moose and it's harness. Also photo shoped.
No worries though, my friend. Again, this comes up just about every year...and we all get fooled now and again.

huh i see your point i just think it odd that a credited writter for a lerge draft horse publication would photoshop a picture and write a large article about it if it wasn't real. Probably is fake :dunno: but I think its so cool im going to keep believing its real. :)
-
LOL...again, as I stated, we all get fooled now and again.
However, this photo has most certainly been photoshopped.

Good ol snopes... ;) http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/workmoose.asp

:'( :'( :'( :'( Can't ever let anyone enjoy anything. Your all right it does look very photoshopped and Im sure knowing moose temperments probably is impossible but can't you just let a girl dream a little?? I mean slip back to the days of childhood when we could still believe in impossible things wouldn't that just be so fing cool?

It would be cool if Santa Clause used a Moose like this one to pull his sleigh... :P
-
...that is until he lands those big SOBs on your roof! :P

It would be cool if Santa Clause used a Moose like this one to pull his sleigh... :P

What if he really does?!?!!?
Its a possibility...I can never seem to stay up late enough to catch a glimpse of him.
-
...and here's the biggest reason it's probably photoshopped...
NO WAY that thing would survive an Alaskan hunting season... Even if they had him dressed in blaze orange.. :chuckle:

If Santa had a huge bull moose like that, I hat to say it, Id be hiding behind my chimney with a rifle in hand...HAHA :chuckle: Funny picture though
-
Not to mention packing antlers in the spring when the aspens are leafing out...

Good catch DOUBLELUNG! The copy/paste of the log pile was an easy pick-out and the outline of the moose is also fairly obvious...I didn't even think about the time of year!
