Title: Waders
Post by: eglseder on December 03, 2016, 10:19:14 AM
Hi everyone! I hope your season is going well. I have not been out yet, as I've been working in alaska. I live in Lake Stevens..could you please throw me some suggestions of places to get a good selection of hunting waders, up this way? I looked at cabelas and outdoor emporium before I went to AK, with no luck. My last pair was from cabelas, but I went to try the same ones and size....didn't fit.  :bash: Legs are too long..ughh. anyways I need to go shopping!

Thank you!

-Brian

Maybe Holaday sports or Dick's in Mt. Vernon? Don't know for sure that they carry what you're looking for, but you'll have a better experience and the drive up is nice.

Did yo grab the same size as before but in a Tall
I was shopping for waders for my son at cabelas and there were tall sizes mixed in with all the regular sizes.  It isn't easy to see the Tall  marking on the packaging

Yeah. I will probably have to try holiday.

I checked...10R. It just seems strange that the exact same waders don't fit.

A lot of times for things that need to be tried on and cabelas doesn't have in stock I order online and then have it delivered to the store. Then you can try it on and return it in the same trip if it doesn't fit right. Probably doesn't help you atm since we are mid swing of the season and store delivery can take a week or two.

Sportsmans has some for $89.
Had to buy a pair last weekend. Discovered my crotch ripped.
They fit me pretty good. I'm 5-11.

While checking the above also check Coastal Farm and Ranch and Big 5 Sports.
All have waders.

Also all these stores are 10 minutes or less from each other.

I wear Cabelas (One Strap Waders). I am 5'10, and they don't fit the best, but they keep me dry. Sportsmans seems like they have a good selection if you are down south.

Don't buy cable as waders they will not last. I went through 3 pairs last year and will not buy cable as brand again after the terrible customer service.

I also have had bad experience's with cabelas waders. Rogers online has some good sales right now. And Holiday carries the Winchester waders, no personal experience but they had some good prices.

I've had the same pair of Cabelas waders for 10 years.  I've repaired one leak that was my fault.  In my experience if you take care of them, they will last.

These posts will make me think twice when I do have to buy a new pair though.   Maybe quality has gone down since I bought mine?

I have a pair of the Cabelas that are on sale now for $99.  They have 19 hunts in them with no leaks or wear issues

The waders I had leaked after 3 hunts returned them next ones lasted 4 or 5 hunts and leaked. Took them back and the last pair leaked within a couple hunts. All the leaks were seams coming apart not me poking holes in them. When I went in to return them again the employee at the return desk said any wader is going to leak after a couple hunts. I won't buy anything from them if they won't stand behind me t. I got my new pair from bass pro and told the sales guy what I had experienced and he said if they leak to find him personally and he would make it right. Used them all season now and no leaks.

Doesn't bass pro now own Cabela's?  I'm pretty sure they do so hopefully customer service will return.  I know it's probly not very economically viable but I liked it a lot better when Cabelas brand waders were covered under the lifetime footwear warranty.  Made buying Cabelas brand waders a no brainer.

Ironically I bought my waders the day the news broke the bass pro bought cabelas

I went out and killed a few ducks this morning.  Got back to the parking lot and started bs'ing with a guy while I'm putting my stuff away.  He was a little pissed cause his brand new Cabela's breathable waders had leaked.  I instantly thought of this thread as of course I was removing my 10 year old pair of non leaking waders.  Lol.  It must be something with the newer ones?
