Title: Insulated dog crate
Post by: bowjunkie on December 04, 2016, 06:14:28 PM
I have a line on an aluminum insulated dog crate wanted to know what peoples thoughts were on these are they worth having Or a waste of money.  It would run me about 200$ used.

Sounds about the same as buying a  plastic crate and an insulation cover. Go for it.

Can the insulation be removed for summer use.

Sounds like good deal, most of those are 600 plus. I have a large ruff and tuff and a mud river kennel cover and just that puts me over 400

I would call that the deal of the day.

Sounds like a really great deal. A lot tougher than a plastic crate and the insulation works both for the hot and cold seasons. It will help reflect heat back on the dog in the cold and keep the box cool in the warmer months by bouncing the heat back outside.

Here is a pick of the kennel 2x2x3 I have a GWP I am torn and not sure if I want to buy this aluminum kennel or a ruff tough and a cover.  is this aluminum really that much of a better of a kennel and worth  packing around and will it really keep a dog cooler in the summer as I don't have AC in my landcruiser. What would you buy.

Yea since you are going to be carrying this inside a cabin of vehicle I think I would lean toward a Ruff Tuff Kennel

You'd be surprised how cool those metal crates are inside during the summer.

Yep, usually you can pull the insulation out and there good to go. Also, with a rough tough. If you have a mud river kennel cover, I've had my dogs in it in nodak in negative weather and it works great.
