I had a wolf jump in front of my car eastbound 18 today at 0630. Was not a yote, and was all black and looked to be a bit bigger than a larger german shepard- didn't see a collar. Was right before the raging river bridge coming up to the i90/hwy 18 intersection.
I'm sure I was not alone, as there was a car or two behind me that slammed on their brakes, as well as one on coming.
Reported to WDFW.

How did it look in your crosshairs?

Think i recall one being hit on I90 up by North Bend a yr or two ago, Jackelope might remember
Damn people using the brakes :chuckle:

Yeah, confirmed road kill black wolf a couple years ago east of North Bend. They think the same wolf was on trail cameras in Snoqualmie proper right before that. I have the pic. I'll see if I can find it.

This camera is in Snoqualmie. They think it's the wolf that got hit on I-90.

Hopefully this one gets hit soon too. Maybe it'll be enough to confirm a north bend pack.
-
Just waiting for one to snag someones pet over on snoqualmie ridge! That should make the news.

They have to confirm breeding to make a pack official.

Jackelope, my wife and I saw that wolf on I90 in MP41 right before it got hit. It came out onto the shoulder right as we went past. That picture looks like it. It was black, and a wolf without question. It got hit right after we went by. It occurred to me that maybe WSDOT should start dumping all the roadkill animals in the median strip. Seems like running over them is the only way we will be able to control wolves in Washington.

That's to funny, I have never heard that one before.

I was following tracks today that were no coyotes over by the raging river.

Now I am going to keep my eyes open a little better going to work in the morning. I like the chrome poach idea :chuckle: I have a RAM 2500 with a big chrome bumper.

You needed to lead it a bit more.

There have been a few sightings in carnation one on Ames lake RD. and one on Tolt hill rd.

We all must be driving around one another lol. I am usually hitting 18 heading to north bend before 6 am.

I would think by now one of you guys could hit it with your vehicle

Hopefully a few will make it to Olympia very soon....

Your first instinct is to slam the brakes when you see movement coming in front of you, so I can see why they don't get ran over more often.

Maple Valley to Seattle via 18 to 90, almost every day around 7:20.
