I have a buddy that says no way does mustard belong on a burger. I have never heard such a thing.
-
Umm, what kind of burger? Regular ole beef in the buns or something like thick, juicy smoked burger with bacon and bbq sauce?
-
Keep a close eye on that psycho.

BBQ sauce can be mustard based, we need more clarification before an answer can be had!
-
Ok, I voted, so what was the question again????
And no is the proper answer in case anyone was wondering.... :dunno:

Of course that's irrelevant, since you can't put BBQ sauce on a burger either!
-
Only Dijon or GREY POUPON and Mayo, so yes. But none of the yellow stuff they call mustard.
-
Nothing but ketchup for me. Or maybe Thousand Island.
-
Mustard is meant for dogs.......
-
No mustard for this guy.
-
Ketchup, old fashioned yellow mustard, and mayo at home. From a burger joint, no mayo.
-
Normally, Best Foods Mayo only, but mayo wasn't a choice.
-
Mustard is reserved for the Hot Dog sandwich and the Hotdog Sandwich only. >:(
-
Hey, a hot dog is not a sandwich. >:(
:chuckle:
-
Yea but is a hamburger a sammich? :peep:
-

There are plenty of idiots that also believe that ketchup shouldn't go on a hotdog too.
-
Deli mustard only not that generic yellow crap. ALWAYS put mustard on the bottom, then the meat, After that almost anything goes......

That's close, but cheese and pickles go with the mustard. Everything else has to be separated by at least one meat patty!

:chuckle: That's the uppity I'm better than you spelling Yes Catsup which I believe is the correct spelling, or old world spelling is the same as Ketchup. :chuckle:

They probably chew a burger too.
-
No Mustard, not ever.
There is no excuse for ruining a perfectly good burger with Mustard.
This should be the end of the conversation.
I am an authority on the subject.
-
Wikipedia sais mustard is an acceptable topping for a hamburger. I guess that settles that :chuckle:

Hamburgers may be cooked in a variety of ways, including pan-frying, barbecuing, and flame-broiling. Hamburgers are often served with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, onion, pickles, and condiments such as mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and chiles.

Not on my burger!! Only put mustard on my wiener or bologna/ham sandwich!

Good gawd people, that's just gross and wrong. "note to self, do not let these two emplace condiments on my grilled burg if ever co-located with them at a BBQ" :chuckle:
-
Of course mustard goes on the hangaburs! Only yellow mustard tho. That deli or Dijon is way too high fallutin. Mustard also goes on French fries and hot dogs (Sammiches or not).

The dirty commies liked mayo on their burgers. Just saying.
-
No mustard gets near my burgers but sometimes I'll add a slice of pickled beets or some sauerkraut for a change. Mustard is for hot dogs.

@Rainier10 says the Russians got hold of the poll here and modified it somehow in favor of the mustard on the burger.
I say he hasn't lived!!

I love to mix it up with my burgers. Different sauces (for sure including mustard), cheeses, peppers, buns, other meat, eggs, chili. The possibilities are endless!

Okay, I give. New year's weekend I am going to go out on a limb and put some mustard on my burger and wash it down with an angry orchard and fireball. I will give my review and adjust my vote if needed in 2017.
-
Welcome to the land of the free, comrade.
-
I have a Constitutional right to put mustard on anything I want, regardless of what some of you snowflakes think. I'll even carry packets of it into a courthouse past security if I'm having lunch there. When I travel by plane, I work with the caterers to put some on board for me before the plane takes off.
-
When I go to a Zips burger joint I always order a small water....I then proceed to fill the cup with their fry sauce (That stuff is awesome) Especially on a burger. Those teenie little sauce cups they give you are no Bueno. ;)
-
Chipotle mustard.
I'z a fancy man.
-
mayo ketchup mustard mixed
-
mayo ketchup mustard mixed
I like that too , fancy sauce with mustard mmmm...
-
Yes, McDonalds the good ole Mickey D,s. If the authority McDonald's put's mustard on a burger well then that is that.
However it may be worth checking with Sponge Bob the main burger flipper at Crusty Crabs. A mustard smile on the patti and good to go.
-
In Miami, when you order a hamburger at McDonald's, it comes topped with ketchup, mustard, pickle, and onion. Here in NYC, it only comes with ketchup, onions and pickles. A brief survey revealed that in Long Island and Wisconsin, there is no mustard on their burgers, while in Michigan, theirs have mustard.
Obama likes his burgers with mustard and no ketchup. :puke:

I like random occasional condiments like cocktail sauce, horse radish, blue cheese, and other strange condiments on my burgers/sandwiches too. Call me progressive but I like trying new things. Get with the times you old foggies, it's 2016. Have you ever had a maple bar with bacon on it ? Life changing.

-
Plochman's Stone Ground Mustard and Melinda's Chipotle Ketchup on every hamburger.
-
I'll tell you what though, mustard is a fickle woman.
You can give me about any dime store ketchup and I won't know it from the others. Mustard though... I've had some cheap versions of "spicy brown mustard" that tasted like trash and I can't put my finger on why.
-
It all depends on how it's cooked....On the bbq/smoker then they get sweet baby Ray's, on the fryer they get either ketchup (catsup :chuckle:) or goup ( mayo, mustard, relish mixed) and when I wanna mix it up I do this

I made burgers tonight. Only put guacamole on it. Flame away in 3.2.1...
-
You ruined a perfectly good guacamole. And a hamburger. For shame.
-
Mustard is one of the few condiments that is healthy and not sugary or fattening. That with turkey or chicken breast is perfect lightweight protein. Or on a burger.

The bacon was ground right into the burger  It had a big pile of caramelized onions on it, does that help?

I'll try almost anything a hundred times but my idea of a classic burger is with ketchup, white onion, and swiss on a sesame lightly grilled/charred bun. A little salt and pepper mixed in with the patty really does wonders. Hot dog is with yellow mustard, dill relish, white onion, and a little celery salt on a grilled bun. Open flame cooked.
-
Mustard helps stick the grilled pastrami to the burger and the pickles to the pastrami! So I vote yes.
But there are too many burgers to give such a generalization. Around here it's like Buford "Bubba" Blue - Mushroom burgers, black & blue burgers, bacon burgers, bbq burgers, turkey burgers, teriyaki burgers, avocado burgers, shrimp burgers, royal egg burgers, jalapeno burgers, pastrami burgers, stuffed bacon/butter burgers, deep fried burgers, Canadian blue buffalo burgers, taco burgers, porcupine burgers, Vidalia sweet burgers, PB&J burgers, pizza burgers, buffalo chicken burgers, nacho burgers, chili burgers.....not all are mustard compatible.
If at all possible I do like to mix mayo, ketchup and mustard for my fries, onion rings or crispy crowns.
-
Sometimes there is not enough room for mustard!
-
Ohhh I'd make that thing my Valentine...
