Title: Bear box recommendations
Post by: Hilltop123 on December 14, 2016, 11:42:01 AM
I need to put a camera on my driveway, but I need a bear box that is tweeker proof. Well as thief proof as possible. Did a quick look on Cabelas the ones I seen, were not impressive. Lock hanging out there in the wide open, just crying out to be cut. Thanks in advance, Hilltop

Just a thought but is there anywhere you can elevate it say 10+ ft off the ground?  Tweekers rarely carry ladders let alone look up IMHO.  Mine is up in a tree and bolted/locked to the tree.

These are decent boxes.  They can be improved by welding the seams.

The cam thieves up in Ashford made it into 3 of my bear proof boxes this season. :bash: The next one they get into will have a little surprise waiting for their sorry asses.  :bdid:

Hilltops come along way since the 80's when people were getting carjacked while
stopped at red lights.  Still, if you hang a camera at eye level, it's likely to get jacked.
If you put it up high, it's less likely to get shot.

Thanks for the input guys, looks like the best option is to hang it high and in a box.

If your referring to the Hilltop in Tacoma, wrong Hilltop.
