Very cool. Back when I trapped a lot of cats, more than 50% would be released. It's a practice I don't see too often these days, but it sure helped my quality tom numbers go up.

It's good to release young cats or cats with poor quality fur and yes you will end up better in the long run !
Good job

That Lil guy doesn't look to happy! Is that the trap pan that he's standing on or do you put a wooden plank in the bottom of your traps?

I'm guessing it's the trigger plate. :dunno:

That's just the trigger plate. In my havaharts I used a wood plank to extend the trigger forward and make it a bigger target and it tends to make the traps a little more sensitive.

Ha, that's definately their normal routine when the door opens. :chuckle: Some Kittens have a hard time staying out of a trap over and over. Hopefully he isn't one.

This video got flagged and pulled off of YouTube. Not sure why but I'll repost when the release the video.

Just dub in "Don't shoot, hands up" or something like that, it'll be fine then....

Use vimeo.com

I'll have to try that. I was just starting to get YouTube figured out. They didn't give a specific reason just said it was flagged and removed. I filed an appeal, not that it's a big deal but I want to know what is wrong with the video.

Lokidog you have a point. If I put those words in there it would of slipped right by to avoid racial tension.

Here's a couple of recent release videos, actually it's just one release, I didn't stitch the two video clips together.

Nice video and he looks like he committed.  Surprised the trap didn't trip.  What size cage are you using there?

I think that one is a 12x20x36. I could see where he put his paws in the trap right before the pan and sniffed around.
