Related females will occasionally rendezvous at the edges of their territory, sometimes with their current young in tow. Cool picture!

There are photos, taken on my friend's ranch, that capture eight lions in one frame.

Recently saw pictures on Facebook of a lion that was essentially treed by a pack of wolves in the Blues. Can't remember where I saw it.
I'll find it.

The exception rather than the rule. Pack usually outnumbers one cougar. One on one...yeah I'll give you that.

I met a guy back in teh 1980s (friend of a friend) who used to snowshoe w/a beagle in a pack basket until he cut a fresh track, then he would close the distance until he was right on top of the lion and would turn the beagle out and it would put the cat up a tree. Never saw it myself, but heard about it from enough people that I don't doubt it.

actually found the pic on the Spokane Spokesman Review newspaper website...they have an outdoor section that a guy writes about and blogs (sorry don't remember his name) and he had it posted

There were 4 of them together this year where we were elk hunting. We have one on camera, two visuals and a audio of them taking down an elk. A member of our camp swears he heard them snarl at him as he was packing up for the night. This was in Goose Prairie.

This picture is a thing of nightmares! Never considered they would run together like that lol

These eight are photographed on my friend's ranch. This was about five years ago.

Wolves usually own cats. Spent one winter watching a couple wolves that hadnt really got it together, steal kills from a cat. The cat was a more effective killer, would kill, the wolves would take it over, cat would have to go kill again. This cycle went on all winter in front of Idabooners.

And you didn't intervene?

I watched this happen three times, the story's are on here some place if you can find them.

Rich Landers is the Spokane paper guy. How many more deer do cats kill in the presence of wolves? Would seem to be significant. Has anyone seen it mentioned in wolf 'management' reports?
