Hi Guys & Gals :hello:
I'm working on setting up some Vendors for the "Winter Rendezvous / Fur Sale"
One of my questions to all of you is: What kind of Vendor's would you like to see there?
I am working on getting a couple of Trap Suppliers from Eastern Washington to attend.
They will need to sell some trap supplies to make it worth their trip to attend.
What kind of stuff would you like them to bring if I can talk them into attending?
I also have a Gun Shop that will attend if anybody wants to sell their guns to someone and they can do the transfer paper work for a fee.
Would you like to have someone like this there?
What other Vendor would you like to see there?

When and where you having this little get together, I'm might just have to attend!! :)

March 11, Elma, Washington Far side of the state from Idaho. I'm one of the Eastsiders he's trying to get over there.

Awesome, want to share a ride/gas? I'd be happy to help load your stuff on both ends, and of course I'd be happy to help you load all that cash you'll make for the return trip. :)

That's a long ride from Stafford Va, you haven't changed your location yet. :chuckle:

:) Good catch, thanks for the reminder!

I could talk to a gunsmith friend of mine who does specialized coatings on all forms of guns if anyone would like that? Parkerizing, gun coat, bluing, nickel plating custom camo and designs that sort of thing?
-
I knew about where he is at.
-
My Smith is located in orting
-
Gun smiths? I don't think we have that much room. Furbuyers and maybe a trap supply dealer or two and we will be maxed out.
I would not encourage anything but strictly trapping related stuff.
-
I've been talking with Cabela's they might show up. They want to stay in touch with me for a contract person for WSTA. They donate some nice stuff to our auctions.
Oh and for all of you, the new guy at Cabela's is a trapper and he is going to see if he can get Cabela's to carry trapping supplies. He told me that other Cabela's out in the Mid-west carry trapping supplies and we should too.
What I would like to see is just not any Vendor but the ones that advertise and support WSTA and our newsletter.
If we have a space problem, it might come down to a single table for each Vendor.

"NORM" Why don't you talk to your Gunsmith about a table space and while you at it, ask him if he would like to be an "Advertiser" in our newsletter / magazine. I'm always looking for more advertisers. Have him contact me for a price-list.

No! We do not have room. I can make room for trapping related stuff but we do not have room for gun dealers. The room is only so big.

This crap is always on the west sife, is there only 2 trappers in E-Wa? Why the heck does everything have to be 200+ miles away every time?

Summer rendezvous always on the East side. No matter where it is I get the same complaint.
Spring Business meeting/campout is going to be on the East side too in May. Nothing finalized yet though.
-
I would love to see a rendezvous more central. Tri city's or Moses lake area. Cashmere is still west side to a extreme eastern wa resident.
-
Probably not ever going to happen in Benton County (Kennewick, Richland) they voted for the Trap Ban.

Cashmere is about a 5 hour drive east for me so don't tell me it's west side. How far away for you? I bet not as far and you don't have to drive through Olympia and Tacoma. :cryriver:
-
He's a little north of Spokane.
-
I don't care where the summer rendezvous is I won't miss it ! It's a blast
-
The garbage can auction starts it all off Saturday night.
-
Oh I know!!! My head thumped for 2 days big thanks to Bruce for that !!

im not crying , I appreciate all the effort put in to the rendezvous but I see it brought up time and time again. I also know the if wsta had a stronger presence on the east side we would have more members and more trappers. 3.1/2 hours to cashmere for me

3 1/2 hour drive ............. :dunno:............. that's nothing.
I'll drive three hours one way (Monroe to Yakima) in a day to go over and see a friend and drive back home the same day.
Or drive down to the shore (3 hours away) to dig razor clams and see Bruce and enjoy the day with him and drive back the same day.
Hell, three and a half hours is nothing. Come on over to this years Summer Rendezvous and meet us "crazy guys" :whoo:
You will not regret it and you'll come back every year just to spend time with friends. See you there.

I'm just trying to get across that there is no place in the State close to everyone. Somebody is going to have a drive. We have two Rendezvous, one East of the Mountains and one west.
I try and get a central location as much as possible.
We would still be open to another location and they way to do that is to come to the Spring Business meeting with a plan for next year and present it. We used to hold the Summer Rendezvous in other locations but someone has to take ownership of the event if they wish to move it.
You might wish to to talk to Bernie and go to the Intermountain Fur Harvesters Sale in Coeur d'Alene Feb 18th.
-
I wasn't complaining. I realize it came across that way. I look forward to mid August in cashmere every year now that I'm a trapper. But before that it seemed like a long drive to make just to check it out and see if it's something for me. After a few years I did it and I'm happy I did. I keep seeing people with similar thoughts and I felt it needed to be brought up again. I know Doug is working on a trappers Ed class in his area and I think it's a great idea. And I bet it will be a success just because it's a little closer.

See if Fred can get ole comstock to fly out
