I wonder why they never hold important meetings at places like Republic, Colville?????
Even Twisp/Winthrop have airports and NOAA found time to hold "meetings"!!!! :yike: Even when the "agenda" was already in place and wasn't going to change!! :bash: The public was allowed to rant, just not taken seriously!!

I assume it's logistical challenges.
In the last 12 months, there have been WAG meetings in Olympia, Issaquah, Ellensburg and Spokane along with multiple conference call meetings.
Minutes and other details of those meetings are all here:

WDFW seeks candidates for Wolf Advisory Group
OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is seeking candidates to serve for the next three years on the citizen committee that advises the department on wolf recovery and management.
The department formed the Wolf Advisory Group (WAG) in 2013 with nine members, representing the interests of environmentalists, hunters, and livestock ranchers. In 2015, WDFW increased the group's size to 18 members to better reflect the diversity of perspectives on wolf conservation and management.
WAG's mission is "to promote equitable, inclusive, and respectful dialogue and decision-making among diverse people to foster durable peace by transforming the root causes of social conflict and providing high quality recommendations on wolf recovery, conservation, and management."
WDFW Director Jim Unsworth will appoint new members to the group from the applications and nominations the department receives to fill three current vacancies on the WAG and any other positions that may become vacant later in the year.
"This advisory group has been extremely helpful in advising the department on the challenging issue of recovering and managing gray wolves in our state," Unsworth said. "We are looking for candidates who can work cooperatively with others to develop management recommendations that reflect a diversity of perspectives."
The deadline for applications and nominations is 5 p.m. Feb. 17, 2017. Submissions may be emailed to Donny.martorello@dfw.wa.gov or sent to Martorello at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, 600 Capitol Way N., Olympia, WA 98501-1091.
Donny Martorello, WDFW wolf policy lead, said the department encourages applications from environmentalists, ranchers, hunters, and other outdoor recreationists. "The Wolf Advisory Group's members have a wide range of perspectives and opinions on wolf recovery and management, and we are committed to continuing this collaboration," he said.
Martorello said the department will accept applications and nominations from Washington residents and organizations that wish to be represented. New members should be available for meetings beginning as early as April 2017. The group holds at least four two-day meetings per year. Most meetings take place in Spokane, Ellensburg, Issaquah, and Olympia. Advisory group members may be reimbursed by WDFW for travel expenses to attend meetings.
Applications and nominations must be submitted in writing and address the following items:
The applicant or nominee's name, address, telephone number, and email address;
People or groups making nominations must also submit their own names and contact information;
The candidate's relevant experience, organizational affiliations, and reasons why he or she would be an effective advisory group member;
Familiarity with Washington's Wolf Conservation and Management Plan and current wolf recovery status and management issues; and
Experience in collaborating with people who have different values.
More information about the Wolf Advisory Group is available at http://wdfw.wa.gov/about/advisory/wag/. The department's wolf conservation and management website is located at http://wdfw.wa.gov/conservation/gray_wolf/.

We need a "huntwa" representative, who can and would be willing to take this on?
It's also nice that we have various category sections on this site for specific topics but this needs to be in a section where it gets read, which is not going to happen in this one. :twocents:

Where can we get a copy of the "agenda" to review before the meeting?
I've emailed Donnie Martorello and asked to be put on the mailing list but didn't get a response and have not been added. Fortunately I have a friend who forwards them to me. That's where this one came from.
I'll forward you the email but the first post is a copy and paste of the whole thing.

Pretty sure Dale is/was on the WAG.
Idahohntr is/was on the WAG.
I feel like there is someone else too but I can't remember who it is.

Dale seems pretty moderate and Idahohntr appears to be left of center on the issue, id like to balance our voice with someone right of center, but not as far right as wolfbait or :Phil: :chuckle:
-
Just remembered, it was Dan McKinley from the MDF who sits on the WAG.
"MuleDeer" on here.

Looks to me like the wolf fight is over, WDFW and crew won that when they came out with their BS wolf plan. As far as the WAG that's pretty much of a joke just like the pro-wolf group that went around the state and lied to everyone at the start.
In the future I don't see WDFW ever trying to control wolves do to what I have witnessed to this point, most people who have been paying attention realize this.
I think it will be up to local communities to take care of their wolf problems privately, which will only benefit WDFW as they refuse to confirm unless forced to do so.

I was never on the WAG. I served on the GMAC but did not seek reappointment to another 3 year term.

I was on the Parks & Recreation Task Force, that's it. Oh I was definitely on a stump trying to bring some sanity to the wolf plan, but nothing official.

Mortorello is a pushover by "interested" parties, who could care less about "vested" parties that are truly affected. They started up an interagency WAG and I was on that for all of about 2 months that it existed. But when he heard the other wildlife professionals around the state/region giving him advise on said subject, it fizzled out. He only wants to speak with and work with people who know less than him. He is THE "Professional" on wolves in the state of Washington.
