No. None of those. Look at the Burris Fullfield II. I would recommend buying one off eBay. Take a look at this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Burris-Fullfield-II-3x9x40-Scope-Ballistic-Plex_W0QQitemZ110348637002QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item110348637002&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A15%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

It's only $155 plus $10 shipping. Great scope at that price. I've got the same scope on my Weatherby 30-06.

I agree.  The Burris fullfield II is a better scope than the ones you have listed.  I have nothing bad to say about the 2 I use.

I used to be a big fan of the Simmons scopes until they did a big change a few years ago now they are crap, I still have 3 of the old simmons 44 mag scopes and love them. With that said I have several of the Burris Fullfields and have had no issues. If you look around you can find the 3x9x40 combo with binos for $200 bucks. Another good scope is the Pentax light seeker it is also under $200

I've never used a burris, but I will agree with everything else said about the other scopes. The newer simmons are junk IMO.

As many have said, the particular scopes you've listed are low end and probably wouldn't be a good choice on a big game hunting rifle... over time likely to frustrate you, a lot!  Would suggest not focusing on brands at this stage but define your needs and budget.  There are generally several good options (brand wise) available in a particular price range.  Based on your rifle choice (30/06) I'm guessing a good 2x-7x or 3x-9x with a 40 mm objective would be applicable for most situations.  If you can budget around 200$ there are a # of viable choices.... keep an open mind and don't get married to a particular brand.

The Burris Fulfield II would be a great choice. Also look at the Leupold VXI Or VXII. Great scopes. I would not trust the scopes you mentioned. It sure is fun looking at Cabelas eather on line or in person!

A week ago, I would have agreed with you.

I have been practicing and have come to realize my Nikon doesn't track correctly.

Over all, I like it, but I believe I could have done better.   :'(

I recently traded a Nikon Monach Silver 3-9 for a Bushnell 4-12. There was nothing wrong with the Nikon just not what I was needing. The fellow I traded with thought the power ring turned too hard, and noticed the bell was slightly dented form the scope rings. He sent the scope in and was sent a brand new scope. Koodos to Nikon.

I will never own another Simmons scope.  The one that I had was the biggest piece of crap.  The adjustment ring seized up in less than a year of minimal use.  It also would never stay sighted in. After 2 or 3 shots it would be fall out of adjustment.

That may not be the fault of the scope, it could also be caused by not mounting the scope correctly. If the rings are not aligned and the scope is slighlty bent, and/or if you don't get the crosshairs level and plumb vertically and horizontally, it could cause the windage and elevation adjustments to not work exactly as intended.

bushnell banner.  if you wanna go real cheap.  minimum for a proven quality scope would be going with nikon. We put a Nikon 3-9x40 with a BDC reticle on angela's 7mm08. then dave has a Nikon 4.5-14x50 with a BDC reticle on his 300winmag.

I just bought a BSA and i like it but it hasnt been tested by washington mountains and it probably never will be. I'm gonna baby it on that 223 i bought.  That is the the BSA contender silver 6-24x40.

really you should just break down and buy the sworovski. ;)

When I was short on cash, I bought an older used Leupold Gold ring.  It has been on three different rifles of mine.  In fact I no longer own two of the rifles, but I still have the scope.  It's still one of the best scopes made for the money.  If you keep an eye on Craigslist or the Nickel ads, you will find one for a couple hundred more or less.  And they have (in my opinion) the best customer service out there.  Just something to consider.  I own a couple Nikons too, they are a decent glass as well, but if the price is the same for a new Nikon vs. a used Leupold, I'll buy the used Leupold every time.

I have four rifles with nikon scopes two have prostaffs (3x9) one has the buckmaster (3x9) and my 270 has the monarch (2.5x10) All fabulous scopes and I have never had any kind of problems with them.  One word of caution with the BDC reticle though is you can't aim very accurately  It would work better with dots than circles.  Circles are not very precise.  You will not be able to shoot small tight groups at long distances with it.  So if you are looking for a bullet drop type of reticle stick with the leupolds.  Just my :twocents:
