So I got a pair of Dryft waders a couple years ago and they started leaking within the first couple months of having them. I could send them back and they will fix them but I know they won't last long. With the type of bank fishing I prefer ive came the conclusion that there is no pair of waders out there made for bushwhacking. I'm not looking for a any suggestions about which waders to buy, I want to fix and beef these up so they might take the brush a little better. I've seen advertisement s for this stuff " flex seal" that seems like it would work well to spray on the outside and inside of the waders on the areas that receive the most stress. On the knees, and inner seams. I figure it's worth a shot before I go spend too much on simms that won't last any longer. You guys ever use this stuff ? It comes in a spray can or a brush/roll paint form. These are breathable not neoprene. Any advice or opinions?
Don't use flex seal. Use this stuff. It's amazing last forever in salt water even. Used it up in Alaska on fishing boats on our rain gear and they use it on dry suits. Same *censored* you see on the under water mining shows on their knees and elbows of their suits. It's great!!

Yep, works great as a blackout paint on vehicles, LOL
In fact I have yet to find a place I did use it that failed.
But, I have no clue if it would work for waders.

I use Shoe Goo that is cheap and available everywhere.This usually what I use. Not perfect but seems to work reasonably well.

If you really want something good to fix those waders get rid of the shoe goo and get some NP1 poly urethane sealant.
I've been using it for several years and it is the best stuff. It seals permanent and stays flexible. It seems to stick to about anything no matter how slick. I have even patched holes in the soles of my boots. It just never comes unstuck.
Downside is I only have been able to get it online and it only comes in gun grade. Also it takes a couple days to cure.
If you open the tube as usual after a while the entire tube will harden. Here's a trick to avoid that. Put the tube in the gun and puncture the tube near the back of the tube. Advance it enough to get what you want, then take the tube out and wrap it with duct tape to reseal it.
I would never go back to shoe goo or aqua seal or any of the other similar products

Not sure how it compares with the other stuff mentioned-which I would like to try- but you can coat areas with a layer of Aqua seal. It sticks and holds up well.
