I know I've got the sitka pants thread going but in keeping my options open. I've heard they kuiu sizes run funky. If I wear a size 38 pant every day would you get that same size for the kuiu attack pants or go up a size? Im trying to drop a few sizes by July so I am asking for future knowledge if I go kuiu route
-
Same size. I wear 32 and they fit perfect. If I need to wear longs it's no problem. The attacks are way better than the Sitka Ascent in my opinion I do like Sitka, don't get me wrong but the attacks are a tad.more comfortable and also have the hip vents when it's warmer

Love all my kuiu stuff. If yourre on the fence about a size, size up. It's a pretty athletic cut. Their return and customer service is great if you have to return for a different size.
-
Thanks guys. If I go kuiu I'll go the size im currently wearing every other day.
Im really on the fence about kuiu. I've seen all there videos read a ton of reviews on there products and really like it. I really want to get kuiu but since I can't actually put hands on until after I buy it and get it in the mail has got me super nervous.

I wear a 34x34 every day wear..my attack pants are the same...great on horse back and dry out fast..its all I wear for pants when I'm out hunting,,theyre great best money ive spent..

Order the attacks, and maybe a top. Peloton 240 is a great jacket I run almost every day while hunting. I just add the Chugach rain gear over the top if it's raining.
Give it a try. Worse case you send it back. Don't know too many people, or any at all, who haven't liked their stuff.

To me their pants fit correctly, it's their tops that run 1.5 or 2 sizes small
-
I was nervous also about not being able to try the pants first but finally just ordered them best pair of pants I've hunted in. Size runs true grab the size you normally wear
-
I was also nervous about jumping to kuiu. I had always bought relatively inexpensive cabelas junk so spending that much for stuff I couldn't try on was difficult at first. My first purchase was a pair of attack pants, I wear a size 38 which fit my legs really well but is slightly big around the waist so I bought size 40 attack pants and they fit great. I fell in love with them so I bought a couple of wool tops at my normal size, I should have gone up one size.
Just recently I bought the guide jacket and it is by far the nicest coat I've ever owned. I went and plowed my driveway while it was pouring rain and was really impressed how the water just beaded up and ran off and never got cold or wet. I had to jump up a size with the coat too.
Also purchased the kuiu ultra 6000. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I did put my 50 lb kid in there and walked around for ten minutes, I could barely feel him. That pack is rediculously comfortable.
My point is, don't be nervous just jump into it and you'll get hooked. I'll never buy another low cost cabelas brand junk item again.

Yeah I might just bite the bullet and push myself over the edge and get kuiu it's just tough. I am the guy that has to look at something 2-3 times before I buy it. We will see. I like sitka but dang is it expensive.
Thanks for the replies guys. So if I go kuiu get the same size pant im currently wearing but size up for the shirts and jackets.

The kuiu attack pants dont seem anything special - almost like twill. But they breathe well enough that with firstlite base layer and chugach rain pants in the pack you are set for all conditions. I can wear the chugach over the attacks and firstlite and hike all day and come back dry.

I hear you on that. I am on the verge of xl and XXL wearing XXL most of the time.

I wear a 36x30 daily in jeans or everyday khakis for reference.... I have the sz36 kuiu and they fit my waist just fine. Length of course is long, but was expected
I'm also a xl shirt and accidentally ordered their cheap synthetic shirt in a large the first time around and it was..... very form fitting.... next time around I ordered a xl and it fit looser but the neck hole could use a little sizing up especially if you have a big dome piece. For reference I wear a 7" 3/8 to 7" 5/8 fitted hat lol
-
Sounds like a big dome piece

Unfortunately lol....not to mention my ears stick out... which is the exact reason why I almost never wear a hat and wear beanies...which inevitably stretch out.... :'( lol

:chuckle:

I am not a fan of going to there web site and the pant size I want is all ways out of stock.....
