Well, after years without one, we are finally ready to get a new puppy. I've been looking into llewellin setter mostly, but it looks like local breeders are limited. Any advice in searching for a breeder that I may not be able to visit?
And recommended Llewellin breeders?

I'd say don't get hung up on the Llewellyn thing, an English setter is the same thing.

I love my English setters !! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170223/7d0caef6b4e1240228ea2c61d6aff332.jpg) crazy hunters in the field and chill in the house.

Thanks. I would definitely look into English Setter as well provided they come from hunting not show.

Unless you're dead set on a setter.

A Llewellin is an English Setter, just a particular type/bloodline. Same with Ryman, but they were more particular with breeding and keeping the line pure.

Most field bred english setters have more diverse blood lines these days and are nothing like the show dog lines.
Here is my boy

Amazing dogs but you'll be waiting a while for a puppy and pay ultra premium prices.

Not a fan of the Tekoa dogs, had one sired by the Patriot that had 2 genetic defects, replaced that one with a dog by HOF setter Tomoka out of Tekoa mountain Attitude(Chick). I found that dog dead in his kennel last spring, he was 3 weeks shy of his 5th birthday. For a dang good hunting setter I'd call a guy in Kansas and have him throw a couple in a box and ship them out. I had 2 of his dogs, two of the best dogs I've owned and that's saying something. I've had over 30. And his pups are cheap with solid famous bloodlines.

Who's your Kansas guy? Mind sharing his name (PM is OK).
